Thanks so much to everyone who wrote and commented on the fashions from the Oscars. I totally forgot Helen Mirren. Most of you reminded me how gorgeous she was. As always, I might add. I saw her when she was in town for the Shakespeare Theater (yes that was my phone going off in the middle but thankfully not while she was on stage) and I can tell you she is so thin and probably 5″4″ if she is that tall. TINY. You can tell that she takes her job and looking fit very seriously. So maybe THAT is why I don’t work out as much as I should. (who are we kidding, hardly ever) Maybe I need to get a movie made so that I will feel compelled! So not happening.
This week Moyuru will be in the store and I bought a lot of it because it is really good looking. It was six months ago so I don’t really remember the pieces, I just remember I loved it. I did not however, like it for fall as much because it was itchy for one thing, and not lined for a second thing, and the shapes were not as good for a third thing. So buy the spring because of course it is all black and grey, and put cashmere under later in the year and call it fall. That is my plan.
I got in some really really great jewelry this week. Some vintage lucite necklaces in the most beautiful colors from Pam Tobey (see picture below) and lots of crystal necklaces with chains that I love. There are some good earrings in silver and gold as well that I think you will really like. Are you all aware by now that I think you would like EVERYTHING I buy? There are some pieces that would make good gifts and believe it or not, in about eight weeks, kids are going to be graduating from college and Mother’s Day is around the corner for those of us that are so lucky to still have our moms.
The Kedem Sasson trunk show is only one day, Saturday, March 19th from 12-6. If you do not live in the district, plan to metro down because it will be worth your while. He did a fabulous job for fall and I can tell you that there were only about six of my regular lines that I thought were really exceptional and Kedem was one of them. Crea was too and so I am most grateful to the reps that come here. I am still working on getting the rep from La Petite Robe here so be patient just a while longer.
I am posting these emails on the blog page of my site so if you want to direct someone to my site or you found out from someone that I sent an email and for some reason you did not get it, or you have no life whatsoever like me and want to re read them, they will all be there for you.
Lastly, it seems like Charlie Sheen has finally crashed as he has not been on any show for about an hour or so, but it was sort of fun while it lasted. I am always so fascinated that with two wars going on, all the unrest in the Middle East, and all the other things that are happening, that stories like that lead a newscast. I guess we just like train wrecks. Or maybe it makes us see that even “rock stars” have challenges. They are just like the rest of us. Only thinner.
