Last week I took a day off and went to New York to see the Alexander McQueen exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with the fabulous Paulette Morgan in her Kokomarina dots and Kim Sun jumper on! (You have to dress up to see McQueen we felt and I wore Kedem Sasson.) It is an amazing show that over 200,000 people have already seen so they are extending it through August 7th. If you have a chance to go, do so as not only are the clothes and hats by the now famous Phillip Treacy interesting and gorgeous, the way they mounted it is equally fabulous. It must have cost over a quarter of a million dollars if not more just to show it.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS: On Wednesday, June 22, 2011 Mary Tabor will be here with signed copies of her new book, a memoir about her life and marriage that I got and literally could not put down. It is perfect summer reading and fun as it mentions all of our favorite places in DC and for those of you who like to cook, she has the greatest recipes. (For those of you who know me, you know that part was completely lost on me, but they did sound delicious.) It will have you on the edge of your seat because you cannot wait to read how it all turned out. (I skipped ahead, I couldn’t help myself.) The book is (RE) MAKING LOVE, A Sex After 60 Story and it is for anyone who has dated, married, divorced or lived. I think you will all enjoy meeting her and reading the book. Come at 6 for a light supper, catered of course.
There are still some great summer dresses that are perfect for this incredibly hot weather and some new Spirithouse and Planet have arrived.
Having said I do not like to cook, I actually DO cook dinner every night and several of you have asked me for the Dukan Diet morning pancake recipe and my no fat, no calorie delicious salad dressing so here goes. (I lost my 11 pounds by the way)
The salad dressing is red wine vinegar splashed over sweet and low. That’s it!
The Dukan Diet pancake:
1 1/2 TBSP Greek plain yogurt (who knew there was a difference between regular and Greek?)
1 1/2 TBSP of oat bran
1 Egg white (use ALL WHITES that come in the little boxes and use half of it as the pancake is much bigger that way)
1 package of Splenda
Mix all together and pour into a pan using Pam
Put a little sugar free maple syrup on it and prepare to not be hungry until 3 in the afternoon!
See you soon!
