Just to pre warn you: this is one of my long emails but I cannot help it, it is September after all. Just like the Vogue September issue: lots to say!
I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. Judging from the traffic this morning, everyone is back in town, the kids are all in school, and Congress is back from vacation. In other words, summer is officially over. But as depressing as that may be, it also means we can wear all our new fall clothes and that is so much fun!!
There are LOTS of new items in the store. The rest of the Lilith came in late yesterday and there are some very very interesting dresses, skirts, pants and gorgeous sweaters as only Lilith can do. They have COLOR and texture and design. Do not forget that there will be a Lilith trunk show on October 5th and 6th so you can see all the new spring clothes and order whatever you want. (Didn’t we just finish with spring? It is all so confusing!)
September 21st and 22nd RAY HARRIS of London will be in town. For those of you who have never met him, please do not miss this chance to meet one of the nicest and most talented designers you will ever meet. Especially if you are hard to fit (and who really isn’t?) this is a chance to have a custom dress. There are over 50 colors to choose from so if you need something extra special this is the designer you do not want to miss this season. His new spring line that you can order includes some lace pieces which is all the rage judging from the pre fashion week brochures I am receiving. I have also asked him to bring some of his organzas.
For all of the details on the trunk shows, please go to the U7 website. Reps for Crea and Kedem Sasson will also be in the store in October for shows but the dates have not been confirmed yet. Stay tuned! The trunk shows this season will benefit Stand for the Silent, a non profit that educates young people on the issue of bullying. To learn more about the great work SFTS is doing and to read the story of 11 year old Ty Smalley go to www.standforthesilent.org.
MANOUK has finally arrived. There are some really great pieces in new and different materials that I think you will find very interesting and that will definitely get you noticed! There are some fabulous black lace gloves (all the rage at Chanel) and some beautiful scarves. All at their usual great prices.
Kokomarina is here and these knits literally walked out the door yesterday. They are perfect for work and they are well priced. There is also their signature tulle dot skirt in black with a knit and tulle long tunic that looks fabulous with it. Speaking of knits, Guido Lombardi should be here today or Thursday so if you ordered some at the trunk show I will email you as soon as they get here. I think they are some of the prettiest sweaters in the market. More Crea, Peter Mahler, Spirithouse, Dress to Kill, La Petite Robe, and Niche will be here any day. Kedem and Lunn by Lilith is already selling out so come in before it is all gone as there are no reorders for these European lines.
If you are on FB, “like” the Upstairs on 7th page so that you do not have to wait for this email!! I try to update it daily. Ok, I do if I remember!
Congratulations, you have made it this far. Just a little more to go.
I will be open this Thursday night until 7 with Gallery 555 open as well. The gallery has a fantastic show by artist Kathy Wismar. Her ceramics are really clean and beautiful and if I was not selling my house I would be buying her large white painting. I already own some of her smaller paintings and I think you will love them too. I will also be open this Saturday from 12-5 because I was closed last week because of the holiday. Gallery 555 will be too so come and have some champagne and hang out with us.
Below are some “little black dresses” from Crea and Lunn and on the right are pieces from Kokomarina and a Crea pant.
Hope to see you all soon!
