A lot of you have met my daughter Katy who lives in Chicago. Over the years she has found me all kinds of new products that are usually awesome and most always expensive. For example: my Mini Cooper, (I got the 31st one ever delivered in Ohio when they came out) truffles from Vosges that were so delicious she ended up working there for five years, Subversive Jewelry, and now the most fabulous makeup, Claudio Raiz. And here is the the great story.
Claudio came to the United States with his parents, SEVEN SISTERS (that is a lot of drama under one roof right?) and his younger brother from Pakistan. I think that is right. Let’s just say there were a lot of people. When he was 17 he left home and went out on his own. He slept in his car, on friend’s couches, hotels etc, trying to find what he wanted to do. Eventually he went to work for Estee Lauder. I am unclear what happened next but I know that he has been married to a drop dead gorgeous woman for 14 years and he has done what is almost impossible to do and that is start his own makeup line. Before I go on, he is drop dead gorgeous too. And beyond nice.
Ok, to continue. Yesterday Katy and I went to Barney’s where they exclusively carry Claudio Raiz makeup in all of their stores, and Claudio did my makeup. But it is not the makeup as much as it is about the brushes. (Although I loved the makeup because a small amount does the trick and it gives you really good coverage.) The brushes are sable and they are not more than most other sable brushes. It is just that you want so many of them. I went there determined to buy two at the most and I WANTED TO BUY ALL OF THEM! I didn’t, but I really wanted to. And you will too. They are that good. His exclusive with Barney’s is nearing its end and many stores around the country want to put his line into their stores. Before he gets too big, too famous, and really too busy, I was thinking it would be fun to fly him into DC either before the holidays so you would be beautiful for the holidays or after, sometime in January for a new start to the new year. Or, you can just come over and look at him.
We could have a makeup party!! Weigh in on this and let me know what you think. I did buy Katy a new brush too in case you were wondering. That girl costs me!
I have lots of coats in stock for the coming cold weather and also for all your gift giving I got in the makeup, jewelry and travel bags that are very inexpensive but look great and make good gifts.
