It is official, we can wear white pants! And don’t think I haven’t spotted a few of you already doing it. You know who you are! I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. I do have some customers coming in on Monday from out of town so I will be in the store for a few hours. If anyone else wants to come in CALL me and I will try and arrange it.
The pants and tops that I talked about last week and which are below have obviously arrived. They are really a light weight gauze but I will tell you that if you are really tall, the pants will not work for you although the tops are really nice. They are very lightweight and judging from the weekend we are about to have, we are going to need all the lightweight clothes we can get. Someone told me the mosquitos are really going to be bad this summer too because of the weird non winter we had. I am praying for a lot of rain so I do not have to water my garden that much this summer as I always get bitten to smithereens.
I have so much coming in next week from my trip to the Accessory Show. I have really colorful handbags, and these fabulous mesh bracelets that are so soft they are really fabric in lots of colors. Teresa Goodall necklaces will be back in the store and I special ordered some with black beads and tulle tied into them. I am very excited to see what she came up with. The lace tanks are in and they are $45 and beautiful. I have black, of course, navy and nude. Perfect for under clothes that are not bra friendly like Kedem Sasson. I have the crinkly long tops from Planet coming in tomorrow as we love them so much and I got some in charcoal, black and white. I expect the boatneck ribbed sweater in soon too.
DO NOT FORGET that Annemieke is coming from Amsterdam on Wednesday ONLY from 1-7. She is bringing lots of new items so I cannot wait. She is bringing her daughter Sophie who is 12 years old with her, and Amy Henderson, the curator of the Portrait Gallery, is very generously taking her on a private tour. Annemieke emailed me this morning to tell me that Sophie is studying up on the American Presidents so that when Amy shows them to her she will have some knowledge about them. I am incredibly impressed by that and thought I would pass it along to you.
The Eyebobs are selling quickly so if you want some come in and I got more of the rubber pieces too. Three of them together make the best gift.
If you are planning on coming over today, I have to leave at 5:00 to go to Johns Hopkins graduation so come early! Congrats to my stepdaughter Emily on her Masters and ALL A’s!
Skip this if you do not want to hear about politics. I am hosting with some others, a fundraiser for Senator Sherrod Brown on Wednesday, June 27th at 6:30. The Senator will be here and so will Anita Dunn, President Obama’s former Director of Communications, thanks to Teresa Villmain. It will be a rather small group so if you have never had the chance to talk to a Senator in a small group before, here is your chance. Senator Brown is a very nice man and last time he was at the store he took the time to answer every question posed to him so I think it will be a very fun evening.
