Hang on, just one more hour to go and you can go home!
Yes, it is the first Saturday of the month so I am open from 12-5! Hope to see those of you who have a hard time getting to the store during the week.
There are lots of items still on sale and lots of great fall things have not only come in, some of them are sold out already so come in if you can. It seems so ridiculous to say that some things are gone, I know, but you know how that goes around here. I hate to reorder because then it is not so special. Once in awhile I will when something comes in and goes out in an hour because no one has really been able to see it, but that is rare! I will let you know what is here in a minute but first a service announcement.
Some of you may remember when U7’s good friend Amy Henderson took us to a private showing of her beautifully curated Katherine Hepburn show at the Portrait Gallery. I thought some of you who love dance might be interested in the new show she is curating. NPG is organizing an exhibition called “Dancing the Dream” that will spotlight key figures from the last 100 years of dance in America: Broadway, Hollywood, Modern, Classical, and contemporary dance. Isadora Duncan, Fred and Ginger, Baryshnikov, Beyonce. The show will be up from Sept 2013 to July 2014, and the Portrait Gallery is looking for people who might help them find potential funders. I thought maybe you would know of some people OR you might want to become a contributor yourselves. If either of those is true, let me know and I will get you in touch with Amy. I am sure she will take us to the show which is so much fun because no one else is there so it makes it seem even more special. If you were lucky enough to come to the Katherine Hepburn exhibit you know how interesting it was to have Amy take us through. In fact, so many people came to see that show that Hepburn’s estate donated her four Oscars so the public could continue to enjoy them. That is how good Amy is!!
Ok, so here is what is here: the rest of the Ray Harris, all of the Dress to Kill which includes some great new pants that came today, (see picture below) the cotton ponte pieces from Comfy which are fabulous. In fact, those are some of the pieces that are gone. They actually feel like the Norma Kamali pieces that she made of cotton material years ago. There are some dresses, skirts and pants that are only 95 dollars and some awesome vests. I bought, black, white and gray. If you love the ankle pant from Sun Kim I have the dark olive green and steel gray as well as the peplum jacket, the short two pocket jacket and the new long tunic jacket that I wore as a blouse yesterday. There are three different skirts from Porto and two tops with more on the way today. It was shipped today so it will be here next week. LA PETITE ROBE NEWS!!! The special orders will be here THIS FRIDAY!; I have been promised. They were late because two earthquakes occurred in the north of Italy where their factory is located and they had to shut down two different times. I am really sorry. But it will all be here on Friday including the pieces I bought for the store. It is particularly gorgeous this season too. I even bought a short skirt! Planet is here and the midnight blue jacket is great. The picture on the right is a great bag from Sondra Roberts with a a middle pocket beside the other ones inside and also there is a way to make it smaller so you can use it as a handbag OR a briefcase.
Can I hear from people that have seen Moonrise Kingdom? I am trying to decide if I liked it. Or was it just quirky?
I will be in New York on Sunday just for the day to see the accessory show so I know what you are thinking: she will have worked 12 days in a row without a day off by next Friday. And you would be right, but at the end of that Friday, the 10th to be exact, it is back on the plane to see the little baby Harrison!!!
Ok, I am trying to behave so no Dylan or Harrison pictures this week. But they are both adorable!! If you come to the store, I will bore you to death and show you.
