I hope that everyone reading this today is doing okay. I am so glad that we were on the southern end of the storm as it was not as devastating as in other areas, but for those of you in Alexandria and those without power and reading this on your ipads, I hope you are back to normal life soon. I have to say I was up most of the night listening to the wind and praying our power would stay on. Hats off to Pepco.
If you want to help out others who are in real peril there are two good relief organizations that need our aid. The American Red Cross at www.redcrossnca.org or the Community Foundation National Capital Region at www.cfncr.org.
Poor New York and New Jersey. What a total mess. You have to really feel sorry for them. And West Virginia. The snow! Mother Nature is reallly in control, you have to admit. I hate that because control is my middle name!

Secret: it was sort of fun staying home for two days. I did get three calls today from people that had cabin fever and wanted to come shopping, but I had no way of getting downtown as the metro was not running until late, and the garage in our building was closed. So I cleaned out a closet and ate myself silly. I think I may have gained four pounds in the last two days. As I always say: starve a fever, feed a storm.
I will be open today and we are still having our trunk show this Friday and Saturday.Jesse Walker will be in the store with his wonderful stone and pin necklaces and a new sportswear and dress line that I bought for spring will be here: ANARKH. Spoiler alert: I will have the clothes in the store on Thursday in case you do not have time to come on Friday or Saturday. Ana, the designer for Anarkh, worked for Ivan Grundahl and she is bringing some immediate pieces as well as the new spring styles that you can order.
If any of you want to go to the Newseum. my favorite museum in DC, I have $5 coupons toward admission and I am happy to give them to you. If you ever have out of town guests, please feel free to stop in and pick up a coupon. If you have not been to the museum, go. The building alone is worth the trip. As many times as Lee and I have been there, we still have not made it to the headline room because there is always so much to see.
I am getting more Planet boatneck ribbed sweaters because you keep asking for them and some of the new spring colors are coming early. There is a beautiful bordeaux one and one in seafoam that is really beautiful. I am also getting eggplant and cobalt.
This brings me to today: HALLOWEEN! We have to have treats so here is the treat: all the jewelry and all the handbags in the store TODAY and TODAY ONLY will be 15% off. But JUST TODAY. Because it is Halloween and we need to have treats. I am not dressing up though.
