I went to Boston University so Boston has a very special place in my heart. Isn’t it just horrible what goes on in the world today? An 8 year old boy is dead because he wanted to watch his parent run the Marathon. Just too sad.
This is not my usual email because it is a little gloomy out and I feel a little gloomy for the whole country. What do all the shootings and now this bombing say about us as a nation? Schools are not safe, the movie theater is not safe, the Marathon is not safe. And yet we have to go out today and go to work, and get our kids off to school, and lead our lives. But it is really not safe. So be careful out there, it is a mad mad world.
April is all about shifting ourselves from winter to spring clothing and May is going to be totally about shows. RAY HARRIS and SISSY YATES are coming to Upstairs on 7th on Wednesday, May 2nd from 11-7 and Thursday, May 3rd from 11-4. If you need a dress for a special occasion Ray is the designer you want to see. He has 50 colors and he will make the dress to order. No one has better jewelry to go with all of Ray’s pieces than Sissy Yates. All her beautiful stone necklaces in every price range are not to be missed.
THEN, on Wednesday, May 8th and Thursday May 9th, Lauren Grossman, the designer and owner of PLANET will be making a personal appearance in the Planet store. Join us for champagne on either of those days and see the fall collection before anyone else in the country.
AND THEN, yes there is more, ANNEMIEKE is coming from Amsterdam and we are the first stop so we get the best selection of all her new styles and she has some surprises for us I can assure you! She will be in the store one day only: Thursday, May 16th so do not miss it.
Did anyone watch the Master’s over the weekend? It was a spectacular finish.
I got the Angela Caputi jewelry in the other day and you will want to get the knot necklace in white. It totally stands out. And I got more bracelets because you all seem to love them so much I have a few of the Couture Saboteur pieces left and got another piece of the pearls on rope if anyone wants them. They are spectacular and someone begged me for mine in NY at my last buying trip and I said NO! I could not part with them.
Had the most fun dinner with our little Dylan the other day who wore her purple tutu to the restaurant. A girl after my own heart. Fluff.
Have a great week, come shopping and enjoy the warm weather, and say a prayer for Boston.
