Kedem Sasson, known for his comfortable yet extremely fashionable clothes, are here for fall! His coats are especially fantastic. There is a puckered fabric short jacket that would look fantastic with Kedem’s pants or Ray Harris’ black or striped pants. Perfect fall outfit! If you need a lightweight coat, there is a wonderful plaid cotton long coat that is also available in a short style that is really good.
If you were waiting to get Rundholz, do not wait much longer as almost 3/4 of the collection is GONE. I only have two pieces of his gray cardy left. It looks so fabulous I have to say. I bought four pieces myself and of course I had to wear the cotton dress yesterday to work. I am so impatient.
If anyone needs a dress for the holidays, I got some beautiful Heydari in and there are some Porto dresses that are really simple, but fabulous. Very understated but they take you anywhere except maybe black tie. But everywhere else.
In the Planet store there are some new styles in matte jersey including an asymmetrical top with 3/4 sleeves that is beautiful. And a few new sweaters. The nylon is great for the fall and would be great to wear for the Jewish holidays this year which are in two weeks! Did you know that the first night of Chanukah this year is the night BEFORE THANKSGIVING? What is up with THAT? Talk about early this year. There is also a bomber jacket that I managed to get in the gray flannel as most of that fabric got ruined at the factory so there are no more being made. I have two left as well as the expresso brown that they are continuing to make it in. It is really a cute jacket and perfect for 50 degree weather and then good for indoors in the winter months.
Ok, movie review: The Butler. Or as they say Lee Daniels, the Butler. The reason they had to name it that is because as you all remember from NINETEEN SIXTEEN, Warner Bros’ made a silent movie named the Butler. They did not want you to get confused so when THIS Butler was finished, Warner Bros came after the Weinstein company for using the name. They ended up having to pay a whopping $400,000 for infringement and had to change the title. GREED is all it really was. Ok, done ranting. So for those of you who read the original story a few days after Obama’s election about the real butler, Gene Allen, (you can google it) you may come away like I did from the movie that the real story was good enough. Hollywood did not have to pad it. Semi spoiler alerts: they had one son who did go to Vietnam but who thankfully came home safely, his wife was not a drinker, and she died in her sleep the night before she was supposed to vote for the first black President, the same night the President’s grandmother died. The footage of the civil rights incidents are still hard to watch but it serves to tell the story. I liked it. I did not LOVE it like I loved the Help. But it is worth seeing if for nothing else than you get to watch Forest Whitaker act and that is worth the price of the ticket and more. Love him. And another reason to go is that Sony refused to make the movie because they said it was a “black story.” Anyone who serves this country by spending 34 years in the White House, without EVER missing a day, a man who stayed three days and three nights in the WH when President Kennedy got murdered, and who never got paid what the white staff got paid until the Reagan administration, is not a black story. It is an American story. And I think it deserves to be supported so that Sony and other big film companies will make movies for adults who have a few brains. Let me know what you think. (That was a LONG ONE!)
Lots of purses from Matt and Nat have come in and I got a copy of a quilted very lightweight Chanel overnighter or so they say as I have never seen the original. I just liked it. Especially because it is big and so light and only $120!
I got a wonderful jacket in this morning from Matti Mamame. I have it in black of course, navy, and gray. It is one button at the top and two pockets. It is a perfect coat for our fall weather.
See you soon! Enjoy our gorgeous weather!
