Every April Fool’s Day I want to write an email that says I am going out of business as a joke but these emails get on the internet because it goes on my website and I am afraid it will pop up and people will believe it!! So if I ever DO retire and close the stores, you can really believe it will not be a joke!
As I write this I am thinking about a friend of ours whose mother, who exercised every day and was in perfect health, dropped dead yesterday and how we need to really LIVE every single day because you just never know! I have already told my children that when I do die, NOT to tell people that I went peacefully with everyone around me because I am going to be completely mad when I die. I may not be able to say so but I wanted them to know I was angry and they know what happens when mom gets mad. And it is not pretty!!
Everyone depressed yet? And speaking of depression and death, does this mean that Alicia and Will are not ever going to get back together? So mad at Josh Charles for going off The Good Wife!
Ok, here is something that is a little happier: Starting the minute you get this email I am putting a LOT of JEWELRY and HANDBAGS on SALE because I bought so much that I cannot even put it all out. (I couldn’t help it, it was all so pretty!) It is only until Friday so if you want to get some great pieces, now is the time to come in. DO NOT GET TOO EXCITED because it is not the latex pieces from Annemieke or the Samuel Cord pieces from Paris but it is a lot of the other pieces. Some even as much as 50% off.
Speaking of jewelry, Friday, April 25th Carolyn Zapp, one of our favorite jewelers will be here. We had to cancel her previous appearance due to snow, so hopefully by April 25th we are safe.
For those of you who could not get in to see the Rundholz there are still pieces left and it is really beautiful. We got in the smock shirt from Planet in white and black and it is the best cotton shirt ever. The pleated back shirt is also here from them in the new military green and white. I love these shirts. The cotton is beautiful and the style is really great.
If you need dresses for work or play, we have lots of them. Beautiful ones from Moyuru and Porto and every line we carry. I think the summer is fantastic for dresses because in the winter it takes forever to get dressed with all the layers you have to put on. In the summer, you throw on a dress, a necklace, some sandals and you are good to go. Oh, and a Ray Harris scarf in case you walk into any building, office, movie theater, restaurant or the most freezing venue of all, the Amtrak train. In fact, if you go on Amtrak forget the scarf for warmth, take your winter coat. Why they have to keep everything so cold I will never know!
SATURDAY schedule for April: I will be closed the first and second ones, April 5th and 12th but I WILL be open the THIRD one, April 19th. I am off to see the little Chicago grandsons this weekend and next weekend off to see my family in Florida for the Passover holiday.
