My friend Elaine Mensah owns Svelte, a company that is all about fashion. And she produced a movie that I am in. She interviewed me last year and I sort of forgot about it until the other day when she called to tell me that she was finally done editing The Politics of Fashion: DC UNBOXED and that it will premiere on Tuesday, June 3rd at the Mazza Gallerie Cinema! In other words I am going to be appearing on a huge screen and I am sure she did not photoshop me. Now I know what movie stars mean when they say they do not watch themselves because I will definitely be cowering in my seat. God only knows what I said and how I actually looked. However, there are lots of really interesting people in it and I hope you will all come and see it. There are only 300 seats available so plan to come soon as I know the tickets are selling fast. The invitation with all the information is below as well as the trailer! Like a real movie! I am really proud of Elaine for doing this because making a movie is not easy. I am now in the listing for movies online and it says I play myself. How funny is that?

For those of you waiting for your special orders from Ray Harris, a bunch of them were sent last week so I think they will be here at the end of this week or next week for sure. As soon as they arrive I will let you know. And another bunch are going out this Friday too so you will have what you ordered in plenty of time for your event. Do not worry. He is on it.
Comfy and Sun Kim is shipping tomorrow so it will be here next week but I will let you know the minute it gets in. I know I am getting cap sleeve tees in lots of colors so you will want those for the summer, IF summer ever gets here. Does this mean we are not allowed to complain when it is over 100 degrees?
Yesterday I flew back from a few days vacation from the Fort Lauderdale airport. When I showed my DIstrict of Columbia driver’s license, the TSA person asked me what state I lived in. I explained to her that I lived in Washington DC and that the District of Columbia is not in a state or even a state itself. This so perplexed her that she made me go to a different TSA person who had seen this “type of ID” one time before. I did try and explain that the District of Columbia IS Washington DC but this was way beyond her understanding. Mrs. Cowan, my 7th grade civics teacher, was the toughest teacher in the school but I did learn about my country and the Congress etc. Somehow this has not been the rule for everyone!!
It is quite shocking really.
I got in lots of new Planet stripe tank dresses today and the black and white stripe shirt that also comes in black and white and that has been fantastic but out of the store in the stripe due to huge popularity. But now we have them again.
Lots of new rubber and silver jewelry came in with magnet closures.
WE WILL BE OPEN from 12-4 this Saturday so please come down! If you want to drive, the garage in this building is only 10 dollars for all day.
