We have had the book Advanced Style by blogger Ari Seth Cohen in the store since it was published and now, finally, the documentary about these fabulous women has come out. There will be two showings in Georgetown this Saturday, one at 3 and one at 6. There will be a panel discussion with the director, Lina Piloplyte and Advanced Style star Debra Rapoport before each showing. In the book Debra is wearing a coat from our own Ray Harris so I cannot wait to meet her! I am going to the 3 o’clock showing if anyone wants to come and there are lots of people going to the 6 so if you don’t have anyone that wants to go, there will be plenty of familiar faces there. The ticket comes with popcorn and you can get a ticket by going to this website: www.advancedstyledc.eventbrite.com.
Several of my customers from out west and in New York have already seen the film and really enjoyed it. Lynn Dell, a woman also in the book who owns a store in NYC was taping a segment on Meredith Veira’s show and when she walked out there was Barbra Streisand who had finished taping Jimmy Fallon so she got to meet her and James Brolin. When I saw her at the shows in NY she was still beside herself as Barbra commented when she saw her “Well, what do we have here?” as Lynn is always dressed to the nines!

After the movie I am off to Chicago to see the little boys so be prepared for pictures next week. You have been warned. This week was Dylan’s fourth birthday and she had her Frozen Elsa tiara on with her little brother in attendance!
As the weather has gotten a little cooler we have been getting in lots of great coats. Planet has a beautiful down coat and it is supposed to be a very cold winter, again. Come in while we have your size.
I bought so much Sun Kim, Comfy and Jason that there is plenty left if you haven’t had a chance to get in. Rundholz and gorgeous dresses from Annet Rostel are here if you have a special occasion or holiday party to go to.
Very sad indeed about Oscar de la Renta. I met him once and he could not have been more elegant. He was a very lovely man and one of fashions real icons. He dressed so many of our first ladies for their inaugural balls and their state dinners. And of course the new Mrs. Clooney!
Hope to see you Friday night at the Craft2Wear opening party.
And at the store!
Don’t forget we are open Saturdays!
