PARTY! NORA! AND THANKS!

We are starting the season next Monday!
On Monday, November 30th please stop by between 5:30 -7:30 for a fun holiday party!  It is going to be better than ever this year.  Not only will we have a raffle with fab prizes but Nora Pouillon of Restaurant Nora fame will be here signing her very interesting autobiography AND her cookbook.  BOTH of these books make wonderful holiday gifts.  As you may know Restaurant Nora was the very first restaurant in the US to be named organic.  This is the story of how Nora got to the US and how she built a restaurant that is now an institution.  If you ever wanted to meet her, this is your chance. She is fantastic and was just named one of the most powerful women in DC by Washingtonian.

And yes, as you can see, Nora has terrific taste in accessories and clothes!

Movie reviews!  We went to see The Martian because sometimes I have to go to movies my husband wants to see.  Just think Castaway without
Tom Hanks, without a soccer ball named Wilson, and Mars instead of an island.  Actually it was better than I thought it would be.  We also saw Spotlight.  This is a movie worth seeing.  Even though I am sure you remember the case against Cardinal Law and the priests in Boston, it is a much bigger story than that.  It is a very interesting look into the world of newspaper reporting and publishing and a strong advertisement for why we need newspapers, as well as the story of abuse in the Catholic Church.

Start making your lists for gifts as we have lots in the 20-50 dollar range for office gift exchanges etc.

The Planet spring trunk show is Wednesday, January 13th and Thursday, January 14th and Leslie will be here with all the great new looks for spring.

Ok, this is not new but the stripe two way cardy is and as soon as they have a picture for it I will post it.  We keep selling out of it in every color!

Don’t forget we are closed Thursday through Saturday this week but I am available on Sunday if anyone wants to bring someone by.  You just have to let me know what time. I will be here through Wednesday at 6 if someone comes in early.

I love Thanksgiving because it gives all of us a great excuse to over eat as well as a chance to pause and think about how lucky we are.  I feel particularly blessed that I have these stores and that I get to see all of you during the year.  While it is a business, it feels more like a social event almost every single day that I get to come to.  My heartfelt thanks to all of you for visiting, shopping, reading these emails, and hanging out with me this year.  It has been so much fun. My thanks to Jo and Barbara for working here and putting up with me.  And thanks to my family for being my place to come home to. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and I hope to see you at our holiday party.
