(Skip this part if you don’t like sports. But I am from Cleveland so it would be terrible to ignore this event!)
Thank you Cavaliers for FINALLY winning a championship for Cleveland. I used to have seats behind the bench for their first ten years when we played at an arena halfway between Cleveland and Akron. I saw the Washington Bullets with Wes Unseld beat us in the semis as Jim Jones broke his foot. I saw the “shot” of Michael Jordan that broke our city’s heart. I watched an interception called Red Right 88 by the Browns and I saw Byner fumble on the one yard line a few years later. Something so upsetting to him all these years later that in a documentary on Cleveland, he cried and apologized. I watched the Browns go to Baltimore and win the Super Bowl there when the Browns are the only original NFL team NEVER to go to the Super Bowl. I saw the Indians lose the World Series TWICE! I could not watch last night’s game with the sound on. And at 89-89 I had to turn it off. I waited five minutes and turned it back on when Lebron James was shooting free throws to put the game out of Golden State’s reach. I seriously could not believe it. WE NEVER WIN! But we did last night. FINALLY. Now we don’t have to win again for 52 years. I just wanted to see it once in my lifetime. Ok, the Browns won in 1964 and I remember it because my father had tickets on the 50 yard line and he was so happy. But that was the year BEFORE the Super Bowl started. Just Cleveland’s luck. So it sort of doesn’t count. So, good, we won. That monkey is off my hometown’s back and now we can go back to being the city that is going to host a Republican Convention that has ordered 2,000 sets of riot gear and extra police and security. Good luck with that.
If you have not been in to see all the new earrings from Sissy Yates you will not want to miss them. Perfect for summer. They come in gold as well as silver which is what is so great about being able to support local designers.
This is the perfect time to go through your closet and figure out what pieces may be missing from your summer wardrobe. We still have lots of great pieces that will fill those needs. Moyuru pants, Heydari dresses, ONE Ray Harris pin jacket, a few Ray Harris dresses, Comfy tees in red and white and gray.
We also have these great backpacks in blue and red shown here on the last of our “fourth of July” scarves. Perfect for the holiday!
If you live out of town and want to FaceTime, please feel free to call and set that up. We send out packages everyday all over the country and we are happy to do it! Just shop out of the box and send back what you don’t need. (That was a joke about need. Want would be the better word here.)
Tomorrow is my beautiful mother’s 90th birthday. As pretty as she still is (oh, in her day she was something!) she is just as nice. I hope she has many more years with us.
Guess what she wanted for her birthday? ANOTHER Annemieke necklace! She is one of us for sure! And she said she would pay for it. She cracks me up!
Have a great week. Enjoy the beautiful weather and come and see us!
