Slips and dresses and jewels oh my!

We got in these amazing slips from Dress to Kill that we have been selling like hotcakes as they say.  We have them in gray, white, black and creme.  They are great for over a dress or under a dress.  I wore mine the other day over a black night gown and threw on my jean jacket from Rundholz.  I have to say I felt really cool and also, very snuggly with my nightgown on which is just like a slip right? Here it is in white and they are fantastic for traveling.  Plus over a black dress they are perfect for adding a little bit of tulle to give it a new look.  Or over a top and a pant. Love these.

We have the best summer dresses from so many of our designers that there is not enough room to talk about them all.  Nothing better than throwing on a dress, a sandal and a necklace and being all ready to go.  Especially in the summer it is so nice not to have to layer yourself up!

Here are just a few of our favorites:

And these are just a few!  AND by special request from Katy and me, Miriam Heydari will be in the store on Wednesday, June 21st and Thursday June 22nd with her new fall collection and some summer for instant gratification.  Her line is seriously one of my absolute favorites again this fall.  And what is nice about having her is that she can do a little bit of customizing for you almost like Ray does.  I hope you will join us because her clothes are fantastic for the fall! We still have a few of her summer pieces too if you want to see them.

We have some of the best jewelry we have ever had.  I have loved wearing my long elastic and “pearl” necklaces from Maria Calderara and of course the new strings from Annemieke are wonderful.  She also made them with pearls.  Don’t forget she is coming here August 16th and 17th.  Can’t wait!  We have the alphabet necklace here with just one pink one left and we have lots of rubber pieces from all different designers.  Really, this summer there is no reason not to have a new piece of jewelry to accessorize any outfit.

We are almost at capacity so if you still want to come or invite anyone to our next Off the Rack: Conversations at Upstairs on 7th with guest NPR special correspondent Susan Stamberg we have a little room left. We are so excited to welcome her. Below is her bio.  I know most of you know her as she has been at NPR since the network began so here is your chance to meet her in person.  I cannot wait to hear all about her many interviews. Susan will be here on Tuesday, June 13th so please RSVP soon. We serve a light dinner at 6:00 and we start the conversation promptly at 7.  Remember to come in on the E Street side after 6:30 as the building’s main entrance closes.  Here is Susan’s bio once again:

Special correspondent for NPR, Susan Stamberg is one of the most popular broadcasters in public radio. She has been on NPR’s staff since the network began in 1971. She is the first woman to anchor a national nightly news program and has won every major award in broadcasting, including the Edward R. Murrow Award from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the Distinguished Broadcaster Award from the American Women in Radio and Television. She has been inducted into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame and the Radio Hall of Fame.
After graduating from Barnard College, Stamberg was a producer, program director, and general manager of NPR Member Station WAMU-FM. Beginning in 1972 she served as co-host of NPR’s All Things Considered for 14 years. She then hosted Weekend Edition Sunday, and now serves as guest host of NPR’s Morning Edition and Weekend Edition Saturday, as well as reporting on cultural issues for Morning Edition.
Her thousands of interviews include conversations with Rosa Parks, Dave Brubeck, and Luciano Pavarotti. Novelist E.L. Doctorow once called her “the closest thing to an enlightened humanist on the radio.”

This Saturday is the Gay Pride Parade and although I don’t know exactly what streets will be closed getting here probably is better if you walk, take the metro or uber so you don’t have to park.  We will be here from 12-5 so I hope you will stop in.  Here is a picture of our Dylan from a a few years ago.  She was so excited to go!
Do you believe she is going to be seven already? She was talking about the years she was the only child before Austin, her brother came along, and she said: “Mimi, those were the glory days!” She is really funny.
The other night I went to Arroz, Mike Isabella’s new restaurant in the Marriott Marquis, and it was delicious!  I would highly recommend it.
On Thursday we will have the Comey testimony running on the computer so come shop, have some champagne and watch our government at work!
