It’s ART! Annemieke’s new pieces inspired by Katy Klassman’s paintings!

When artists get together there is no telling what can happen.  Katy showed Annemieke a small painting she was working on and let’s just say that new necklaces were born right then and there.  Some of you may not know that Katy is a painter but she is and she is really good at it.
True story: when Katy was at Skidmore she painted the most fabulous painting and when I asked for it she gave to me.  I had it framed for a small fortune and it hung in my home for several years until Katy came and took it for her new apartment!  Every time I see it I ask for it back with no luck so far. I would show you a picture of it but like I said, I don’t have it!!
But I digress.  Annemieke is bringing all her new amazing pieces with her and Katy is bringing the paintings that were the inspiration.  None of these pieces have been for sale until now (Katy’s paintings are for sale too) and will be seen at Upstairs on 7th for the very first time before Annemieke goes to the New York shows. I have seen the prototypes and they are fantastic.  She also has some new pearl pieces that are real show stoppers that she is bringing as well. If you are an Annemieke fan, and who among us is not, you won’t want to miss this show.  If you live out of town go to our Facebook page on February 15th and I will post the pictures so you can order some pieces if you would like to.  I will also put them in my email of that week.  In other words, no one has to miss seeing them.

Here is Annemieke in three of her new pieces including a new pearl piece. On the bottom right there is another one of the new pearl pieces she is doing.
On Thursday, February 15th we will have a champagne reception from 5-7 and Katy and Annemieke will tell you a little bit about how they came to this collaboration. Friday, the 16th we will be open from 11-7  and on Saturdaymorning at 10 we will have breakfast, mimosas and our last look before Annemieke goes off to New York.  I know you will love this new work so much that she may not have enough goods to take with her to the shows.
If you can join us for breakfast on Saturday at 10, please RSVP so we know how much food to order. This is going to be a great show so you won’t want to miss it.
On March 1st, 2nd and 3rd Ray Harris will be here for our bi-annual show with all his new fall designs and we know they will be fabulous as usual.  We cannot tell you how much we love his new polished crush pleat he is doing. We have lots of colors and styles: jackets, coats, dresses and tops.
Planet is so great this season we have had a hard time keeping enough styles in the store.  Some of you have already gotten this tunic but in fog it is a really good piece for spring.

The reversible dress is a great one for summer.  We have it in blue and red and it can be worn front or back: hence the name reversible.

Here is another fab piece of Rundholz Black Label that came in. We have this tee shirt in blue, green and bright orange.  Love it!
We are still taking prom dresses and we still have some seats left for Peter Hart’s appearance at Off the Rack: Conversations at Upstairs on 7th on March 13th. Lots of men are attending this time so if you have a significant other, husband or friend I think they would really enjoy this program.  He will be coming back from several business trips so it will be fun to see what his up to the minute polling is telling us about the state of our country.  RSVP today and don’t forget we start with dinner at 6 and the program starts at 7 with dessert at 8.

Don’t miss our SALE! Now at 60% off! We still have lots of New Form Perspective sweaters, Suno skirts, Ace and Jig, Rundholz sweaters, dresses and tops and lots of scarves, OAD handbags and accessories.
I have to say it is so hard fundraising to run for office that I am surprised so many people do it.  Between fundraising and doing your job once you are elected it is no wonder not much gets done.  If you run for Congress you pretty much have to fundraise every single day because the minute you finish one campaign you have to start to run again in a year.  My hat is off to the candidates who take the leap and run, to our elected officials, and to the people who do their fundraising for them.  I am definitely keeping my day job!
Come see us soon!  There is lots to see!
