8 shopping days and counting until Christmas! This month has gone fast! And so has the year! For those of you who need hostess gifts, secret Santa gifts, or small gifts to give out to your guests we have our beautiful candles and note cards. We have lots of beautiful papers and pens. Soaps, bath salts with crystals, and hand cream too. They are good for stocking stuffers too. Does everyone still do that?
We have moved all of our holiday dresses and velvet pants and tops to the front of the store if you are getting all glammed up for New Year’s Eve. We have lots of beautiful clothes to make it a memorable evening. Lots of beautiful dresses:
We love these pants:
Throw on a black sweater and you are ready to party! We are open Monday through Friday 11-6 and Saturday and SUNDAY 12-5 next weekend. We are open on Christmas Eve until 5 too for any last minute items or to visit with out of town guests. After Christmas we will only be open on Thursday December 27th, Friday, December 28th and Saturday, December 29th. We are trying to have a little bit of vacation that week. All the special orders from Ray Harris have been shipped as of Friday so hopefully you will have your pieces by the end of the week. It is hard to say because sometimes it takes five days and sometimes as many as three weeks. Customs is always iffy and depends how much is coming into the US at any given time. We will let you know the minute your pieces arrive. Keep in mind that these were supposed to be delivered in January so hurray for Ray as he always gets our specials here as fast as possible! And speaking of Ray, he is going to be our guest at Off the Rack: Conversations at Upstairs on 7th on Thursday, February 28th. He has a great story to tell and for those of you who have never met him, you will love him! His trunk show starts that day and runs through Saturday March 2nd. The Planet and Annemieke trunk show is January 10th and 11th so we hope to see you for that. Here is another reminder to go see the Rachel Whiteread exhibit at the National Museum of Art and the Rodarte exhibit at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Both are not to be missed wonderful shows. How fun is it to live in Washington? We really are lucky. Restaurant review: Opaline is very good. We had Katy’s birthday dinner there and it was really nice. Don’t get scared when you walk in and hear all the noise. That is the bar, the restaurant is to the right and nice and quiet. Great service too. Come see us soon! Ricki and Katy
