Happy Wednesday? Thursday? Friday? Is it March?
Firstly, we hope you know that we take everything that is happening seriously, that your safety and health is always on our minds as we write these emails. But we figure that there is enough difficult news and challenges to maneuver right now and that our job is to help everyone feel good and beautiful, so this email should do the same. We also think we could all use some laughs because it is getting harder to maintain a positive and hopeful attitude the longer we are under the stay at home order.
So…with that in mind, next week should be the Met Gala. We love the first Monday in May to see what the Queen Bee Anna Wintour will be wearing. This year is a little bit different. No Prada for the devil this time around.
One thing Covid-19 may have done is rid lots of people of their dread for Mondays. The week goes something like this now:
An update that Ricki has about twenty of the thousand pieces of her puzzle done and is keeping Katy up to date every time she gets a piece. When she is finished with it, she will bring it to the store and anyone who wants the challenge of putting together a tiny Botticelli will be welcome to give it a go.
Katy took a beaded earring class last week, so if you need some earrings she can weave some for you. Or better yet, just get some of the fabulous ones made by professional designers when we reopen. That’s probably a much better plan.
She’s also way deep into the second season of Shtisel, which is not the most uplifting show, but really well done and a great follow-up to those who loved Unorthodox. Shtisel has become so popular on Netflix that they were set to start making a third season after being on hiatus since 2016, but…Covid. Hopefully they will go ahead with it eventually.
A little secret about our family: we can be a little bit competitive with each other. Just with regards to the important things, though, like the NYTimes Spelling Bee.
Does anyone else anxiously await the Sunday NYTimes to see if they have any chance of shaming their kids or siblings like we do? Probably not.
It is maddening and fun so we thought maybe you would like to give it a go.
Here is this week’s puzzle and we’ll give you the answers in our next email:
Rules are as follows: make as many words as you can using the letters provided. Each word must use the center letter at least once. Letters can be used more than once and each word must be at least five letters.
Words are one point each unless they use all seven letters in which case they are worth three points. There is always at least one seven letter word.
That’s it. Ricki wins most weeks. Katy comes in second most weeks and Kenny, well let’s just say we aren’t sure if he really graduated from college or law school for that matter. Having said that, this week he has BOTH seven letter words, because sometimes they have more than one, and we are just baffled by that because we don’t even have one!
Slowly, but surely, Ray’s packages are arriving from London with masks and special orders. We will let you know when your pieces arrive if you have things on order!
A reminder that we can FaceTime with you and send you a box of spring/summer clothing and jewelry. Ricki comes in once or twice a week to pick up the mail so if anyone wants to shop on FaceTime please let her know (you can reply to this email,) and she will schedule a time with you.
20% off anything in the store (but not Annemieke of course) continues, because we hate Covid-19 and we love you!
Please let us know how you are and anything that is making you laugh and smile that we might include in our next email.
Stay safe, stay well, stay strong and we will see you soon! We will.
