Upstairs on 7th: Staying Safe

Hi Everyone,
We were so excited to spend this week talking about the possible reopening of the store and how we plan to handle it.
Most importantly, we wanted to say thank you to those who have reached out to us about our safety and the safety of our store.
We are both fine and so is the store. (On the other hand we are truly the only store in town not boarded up and no one touched our store.  How dare the looters not like our merchandise?) Seriously, we consider ourselves very lucky that for once our store is hard to find.  Don’t tell anyone where it is!
We hope everyone is safe, feels heard, and that like us, if you have any ability to do so, you will give your time, words and money to causes that will help heal this country.
We still cannot wait to welcome you back, to catch up with you and to be with each other again. Prepare for lots of six feet apart hug gestures. Does everyone miss hugs as much as we do?
Today the store is being deep cleaned and Barbara is back in the store for the first time since we closed. Our little team of three is really looking forward to getting back into our groove.
Our building is doing a great job of making common areas safe and keeping us informed. This reminder is in the entrance:
We are going to assume that on June 8th we can re-open but we will keep you posted about that.  We wanted to assure you that we are preparing the space for your safety and comfort. When we do open, we will be following these guidelines:
  • Masks will be required for everybody in the store by order of the governor and mayor. If you don’t have a mask, we will have masks available for sale.
  • We will be limiting the number of customers to two in the store. We recommend that you make an appointment in advance by emailing our dedicated email address: u7wardrobe@gmail.com, or if you are nearby and want to come in, please call us at 301-351-8308 in advance so that we can attempt to accommodate you.
  • For your use, we will be providing hand sanitizer at various points throughout the store. Our restroom will remain open for your hand washing (and other) needs.
  • In addition to our normal care of garments, we will steaming items after they have been tried on if they are not bought.
  • If you do not feel 100% healthy, we ask that you please reschedule your visit with us, and know we would love to welcome you any time when you are feeling better. We will do the same.
  • We have continued to elevate our cleaning program, sanitizing frequently used surfaces, door knobs, railings, etc., and we are taking other measures to make sure our store remains as clean as can be.
We hope that by implementing these measures we can substantially reduce the risks of contracting the virus while at the same time helping to make you feel comfortable shopping with us.
Our at home fashionista is still at it. We really do revere all of our fashionistas at this point.  Katy has mostly worn the same dress that she has been wearing for the last week and Ricki may or may not be wearing the Sun Kim pants that Katy won’t let her wear to the store because she wears them too much.  On the other hand, here are these photos of what to do rather than your favorite mother/daughter proprietors what not to do!

It doesn’t feel like a moment for giggles, but here is just one, because we need to take a minute and smile and this is a clothing PSA:

Here are the answers to last week’s puzzle:
And here is this week’s.

Next week we will share Ricki’s jigsaw puzzle progress. By her account, she has started to make real strides and it is imperative that she finishes it because otherwise she may not come back to work until she does.

Until then, please stay safe, please continue to tell us how you are and please let us know if there is anything we can do for you clothing or otherwise. Remember we can FaceTime or Zoom with you any time.

We are still here and we remain optimistic that we will see you soon,

Ricki and Katy
