Upstairs on 7th: It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmahannukwanzaakah!

Can you believe it’s almost mid-December? Have you done any of your holiday shopping, because they’re almost here! We’re sort of stunned ourselves. Like the girl scouts that we are, though (one of us was a girl scout but we both love the cookies,) we are prepared to help.
We are more than happy to be your personal shoppers and we have become quite the shipping team in our spare time (UPS look out, we’re coming for you,) so we can wrap and ship your gifts anywhere you’d like.
There are still lots of pretty scarves to choose from, candles, handbags, and jewelry. Don’t forget all of those host and hostess gifts. What? Zoom hosts and hostesses should get gifts, too. It’s been a rough year!
Want to feel festive? Time to gussy up! We’re looking at you, faithful client who has been in your pj’s since March. We cannot stress enough how glamorous it feels to wear your Ray Harris dresses at home. We have some pretty ones here in the store, so if you don’t have one, now may be the time. Too much of a leap from your leggings? We have some really beautiful Labo Art dresses and skirts. They’re the perfect compromise because they are pretty silhouettes, but made in the softest stretch cotton. They have elastic waistbands so you won’t feel like you are sacrificing comfort for beauty (and you can still eat extra dessert and no one will be the wiser.

While we were at home watching lots of Netflix, two of our clients were writing books!
We have copies of Dagmar Painter’s book, “Art Heals’ at the store. Curated by one of DC’s finest curators who also happens to be a really beautiful writer, this is a collection of her blog posts about life and art (before and during the pandemic). All proceeds from the book benefit Jose Andres’ efforts to feed all in need, globally.
Our client Katharine Bethell has written a book on aging well. A veteran psychotherapist and Board Certified Diplomate in Social Work, her book discusses having curiosity surrounding the aging process and how to age wiser. It can be found at Politics and Prose and we would love you to support Katharine and one of the country’s finest independent bookstores.
A tiny bit of humor for the week:
We hope you have a great rest of the week. We will be
on Facebook Live today at 3pm EST talking about whatever
is on our minds at that moment. Or if there is something you want to see let us know.
We are here 11-5 Monday through Friday and Saturdays
during December from 12-5. We hope to see you in the
store soon and for those of you who can’t be here in
person, we are just a phone call, Facetime, Facebook,
Skype, Google Hangout (no idea how to use this one,
if we’re being real,) or Zoom away.
In other words, we’ve got you.
Ricki and Katy
