Upstairs on 7th: Just When You Think You've Seen It All...

Hi Everyone!

I opened up the service that we use to write and send our emails on and it offered a new service: type in a few key words and voila…AI would write the email FOR me!

What would the keywords be, I thought: happy holiday, hot dogs, humidity,

fantastic new fall, Fun Home, recycle sale, spring/summer sale?

As tempting as it was (and I basically just gave you the Cliff’s Notes version of this email below) we still like doing things the hard way, so I am writing the email and leaving chat gpt (is that what it’s called?) and AI to the young people (and this is Katy, btw,) so by young people I mean people who still look at the list of bands for summer festivals and know who anyone under the headliners are (because as of about three years ago, I do not). And I assure you I, (and this is Ricki) didn’t know that Dave Mathews was a band and not a kid (THAT is a story) so I probably wouldn’t know the headliners!

So…from the two of us real people and not computers, we hope you had a very happy holiday, had at least one hot dog and didn’t suffer too much from the humidity (even if your hair did).

Thank you and we can’t wait to see those of you who bought Fun Home tickets. It has already gotten really good reviews and an extension, very good signs!

We will also be hosting a pre-theater dinner at the store, so please RSVP to u7wardrobe@gmail.com if you will be joining us. We will have dinner together at 5pm and then head to the theater. The show is 90 minutes long with no intermission.

We are inching closer to the Recycle Sale!

Between Monday, July 17th and July 22nd, you can bring up to 8 items of clothing, jewelry or accessories that you have bought from Upstairs on 7th over the years into the store. As a reminder, we are unable to take anything prior to the 17th due to our limited storage space.

-Every piece of clothing MUST be dry cleaned and brought to the store in the dry cleaning bag in order to be accepted for the sale. The only exception to this is Ray Harris. Since his garments shouldn’t be dry cleaned, If you are planning to resell one of his pieces, these must be washed thoroughly before bringing them in. This is a protective measure to keep everyone safe so we can continue to do sales like this.

-You will be given a form to fill out when we take in your items and we will price them for you.

-On Monday, July 24th the sale will begin and it will run through July 29th.

-If we sell your item(s) you will get 1/2 of the amount of the sale price in the form of a gift certificate to use on anything in the store. i.e. If we sell one of your items for $350 you will get a gift certificate for $175 that can be used in the store through 11/30/23 when the gift certificates will expire.

This is a fan favorite event and we can’t wait!

For those of you who placed orders at the Ray Harris trunk show, we are expecting some special orders this week and some of our store order. We will contact you if we get any of your pieces, but he is running ahead of his promised schedule, so that is great news! For any of you that missed the show, we have some of the cotton pieces for summer in stock and you can come see those, as well as, the fall pieces while you shop the summer sale!

And speaking of sale, we have just marked down spring and summer collections to 50% off and have some items at 70% off, so if you are still dreaming of a piece that you wanted to wait on, wait no more! We still have lots of great gifts, handbags and jewelry, too, which we are 30% off. It seems silly to say that Christmas is just around the corner, but it will be here faster than you can spell supercalifragilisticexbealidocious and all of our marked down gifts and jewelry will be great to have on hand when the holidays arrive.
