Upstairs on 7th: Customs May Try, But Even They Can’t Keep Us Down!

Hi Everyone!
Do you wait every year for the launch of the Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spice Latte? Do you walk by your local Starbucks looking for the sign outside the door every day? Do you check the website in the morning and your app during the day? Several times a day? Do you wake up and think “this might be the day” with butterflies in your stomach” and go to sleep sure that it will happen the next day when it hasn’t?

If you experience this, then you understand exactly what our relationship is like with UPS and FedEx at the start of a season. Wake up, check tracking. Get to work, check again. Call and text the poor people at UPS and FedEx whose direct numbers we’re not supposed to have, but do (we are very apologetic for this). Run after various drivers and ask them if they have boxes for us. Check tracking again. Feel a rush of happiness when we see boxes heading towards our door when we see “out for delivery” on our computer screens and want to hug our drivers when we see them coming towards us with boxes (we generally don’t).

All of this is to say, that the season has been slow to arrive. (We see you custom officials!) Having said that, we are happy to report the store is full and there are so many new things that we can’t wait to share with you!

We received our UCF order from Japan and these jackets, dresses, vests, and skirts will take you everywhere as they always do. They will mix in well with all your other UCF and if this is your first piece, it will be a great addition to your wardrobe. Here are a few of our favorites:
We received our Epice order which we always look forward to because it adds so much color to the store. We have lots of geometric and floral scarves in colors that work with all of the collections. We also have some of their wonderful bags for weekend trips (if you throw a couple of Ray Harris pieces in one, you will be good to go!)
We also got a second group of Rachel Comey in, including this gorgeous coat in a magnificent shade of burnt orange and a flare top with short pant in black corduroy.
A reminder that our Annemieke show is at the end of next week on September 8th and 9th. We can’t wait for her to make her way to our coast! We always have so much fun when she’s here.
If you haven’t blocked out some time in your calendar to come see Ray Harris, now is the time! He will be here November 8th-10th. There will be lots of pieces to take home with you, a new spring collection to order your made to measure pieces from, and a new selection of vintage pieces that have been revived and revisited by Ray.

It’s one of the best weeks of the year when Ray is here. So many of you have been coming to see him for more than a decade, some of you come from out of town and many of you have enviable Ray Harris collections that we love seeing. We can’t wait!

And now for the memes:
A little change to our schedule this week: we will be closed on Monday for Labor Day, but back on Tuesday-Friday 11-5 and Saturday 1-5.

Don’t forget to come see Annemieke next Friday and Saturday!

You can find us on FaceBook Live at 2pm on Tuesday and Friday or at your leisure on the Upstairs on 7th page on Facebook anytime!

Come visit! Call! FaceTime!

Have a great rest of the week,

Ricki and Katy
