Upstairs on 7th: So Much Happening at U7 in November

Hi Everyone!

For the time being it is fall. We say that because it seems that by the time the beginning of next week rolls around it is going to be spring again and that is a perfect segue to a reminder that Ray is on his way to present his spring 2024 collection.

This weekend is the perfect time to figure out what you need for spring weddings, events, trips to the grocery, or a color that you would love to have added to your wardrobe (remember that orange is the new black for spring and summer). He will be here starting next Wednesday and will be here through close on Saturday.

We just got to see the new fabric in person for the first time and it’s great. The colors are super vibrant and of course there is black for those of you who won’t stray from your tried and true!

There are also some really special new dress shapes and one-of-a-kind jackets.

There are lots of vintage pieces that have been “RAYvived” and we are also opening a new section of the store that I (Katy here, because you know this next part is not my Mom,) have been dreaming up for some time. It’s a tiny little “brocante” which translates to flea market. Here you will find treasures that Ray and I have collected over the past months: jewelry, small pieces of art, knick knacks (I think the French call those tsotchkes, right?) ephemera, etc. It’s all things we loved so much we couldn’t leave it where it was, so now it can be yours. All of these items will make really nice gifts and are priced accordingly.

Ray and I have also worked on a little accessories collaboration and will have the first of those pieces ready. These are one-of-a-kind and there will be ten pieces to start, numbered and signed to wear with Ray or any of your other favorites.

All this to say, there are lots of special things to see in the shop, so you had best get here or FaceTime with us!

Speaking of special things in the store…Christmahannukwaanzakah has arrived!

There is so much to tell you about. We have jewels and stationery, candles, and Birkin bags (well, kinda sort of!)

Here are some photos to give you an idea of what is here:

Everything arrived on time this year, so don’t delay in getting your gift lists together and making your selections. You may find it hard to believe, but we have run out of certain styles gloves and there are gifts that will go quickly that we will not be able to reorder in time for the holidays, so fair warning to all!
Poet Lee Woodman is joining us for an Off the Rack: Conversations at Upstairs on 7th AND a poetry reading on Wednesday, November 15th.

We got to go to one of Lee’s presentations and it was such a great evening we could not wait to have her join all of us as soon as possible. The photographs and her reading style are captivating and we know you are going to love this event.

Lee has had such an interesting life that we thought we would send you the link to her website so you could read for yourself all about her, her many awards, and how she came to be a poet.

Dinner will be served at 6 and the Conversation begins at 7pm.

RSVP by November 12th at the latest and feel free to invite your friends and family.

Before we get to this week’s memes and we are putting this here because this is the section we know for sure you all read, we will be closed this Saturday November 4th. We will reopen on Monday, November 6th, with the store and us refreshed!
We are here today and tomorrow from 11-5 and and we will be closed this Saturday only.

You can see us live tomorrow on FaceBook at 2pm and watch reruns any time on our Upstairs on 7th page.

We hope to see you soon and until then, be well and take care of one another.
