Our Version of a Winter Wonderland

Hi Everyone!

Okay, before we get to the fashion let’s have a little chat about snowstorms. As former Clevelanders and Chicagoans a snowstorm, by definition, is when there is at least three feet of snow, it is -20 degrees, give or take 20 more and your boss expects you to be about ten minutes late. In Washington, DC a snowstorm is this:

Point made, nothing more to say on the subject.

Today we are waiting for another “snowstorm”. This means, there is a break in the weather today and you have the rest of the day to come visit us and shop before the city shuts down again tomorrow. If you can brave the couple of inches that we might get, you can come Friday or Saturday, too. We’ll make you hot chocolate and…we’ll show you the very first bits of spring clothing!

We received our Heydari shipment last night and are busy putting it on the floor as we speak. Ricki chose some really nice pieces that can be worn now with a bit of winter wear and will carry you into the warmer weather.

Here are my favorites:

In other news:

The new website is really, truly, almost finished. Like truly, truly, this time. There is one last glitch to work out and then it will be up and running. I am excited for you to see it. It’s simple AND it has the list of all of our Spring/Summer designers, so you can get some hints about the new lines that are coming in. There are several (and one returning after a couple of seasons that some of you love, love, love).

Events! One of the reasons I am excited about the new website is that it will allow you to click a button to RSVP and voila Ricki and I won’t be keeping a list on a piece of scrap paper!

Since it isn’t ready, though, I would love to share the two events that are already on the books for February and March.

First up is a V(G)alentine’s Day party on Wednesday, January 31st. I’m really excited to introduce you to jeweler Ty Brickhouse. She makes the coolest, most original earrings (photos in next week’s newsletter!) and I am so happy to share them with you. They will make a perfect Valentine’s Day present to yourself or someone you love.

We will also have Brett from Grape Intentions in house that evening for a wine tasting and sale.

Bubbles and baubles! It’s going to be so much fun and Ricki will be here if she can tear herself away from the paint by number I bought her (all my idea. I don’t know that she is entirely convinced about this new painting hobby, but she finishes what she starts, so she is all in at the moment).

The event will be from 4pm-7pm and if you could RSVP just so we have an idea of the size of the crowd to expect, that would be appreciated.

Please send a “yes” to U7wardrobe@gmail.com and feel free to invite lots of your friends who may never have been to the store.

On March 12th we will host two of our clients in conversation. Friends, fashionistas, professors of writing, multi-award winning novelists, fiction and non-fiction writers, Kyoko Mori and Mako Yoshikawa will be discussing and reading from their newly released memoirs.

We will have books for them to sign and it promises to be a wonderful talk between these two distinguished writers.

The event will take place from 6:30-7:30 with a light dinner beginning at 5:30.

RSVP to U7wardrobe@gmail.com. All are most welcome!

Last two things before the memes!

The pen I designed arrived yesterday, so if you would like one (or some for gifts,) please let me know and I will send them out to you, or hold them aside. There are a limited number of them, so please let me know as soon as you can so you don’t miss out.

And finally, the sale continues and some items that were marked at 50% off are now 60%, some that were 30% are now 50%, and you get the picture. There are really good prices on everything and we still have some wintering to do, so come treat yourself. Or FaceTime us!

And now for the memes:

We are here

Monday-Friday 11-5 and Saturday 1-5.

Hope to see you in the store or anytime on Facetime!

Katy and Ricki (Emeritus!)
