Upstairs on 7th News of the Day!

Belts

A huge THANK YOU to all the people who came to the Planet Trunk Show as it was so much fun. I think everyone who was here can understand why a Planet store will be a great new place to shop. There are new spring designs coming so stay tuned for the opening in just a few weeks! If you missed the show, some of the stock is in Upstairs on 7th so you can still see what all the excitement was about.

Dress to Kill has sent a few pieces and the Transparente is almost all gone! Heydari has wonderful linen pieces that are well priced so shop early especially if you are going to warmer climates soon. Be sure to come to the Heydari Trunk Show one day only, Thursday, February 14th from 11-6. Mariam Heydari will be here and she is a most wonderful person. She is bringing lots of spring styles and you will be the first to see her fall line.

I met our talented jewelry designer Sissy Yates in New York last week at the Accessory Show and I think we bought 5,000 bracelets. There were so many fabulous ones that we could not help ourselves! Some of them have started to come in and they fit the new trend of double wrapping. They come in lots of great colors too. We bought rubber, leather, suede, crystal, and metal ones in all different price ranges so everyone will be able to get something new and different. But speaking of that, you know when I first opened and I had the multiple cotton and metal bracelet from Gillian Julius that was close to 300 dollars? For those of you who did not want to spend the money there is now a 70 dollar copy! I will keep you posted on their arrival.

Did you all get your FLOR catalog this week? What makes it special is that all the rooms are from real homes. If you look on page 42, my daughter Katy’s little dog Ivy is there. We no longer can look “the talent in the eye” however. (Full disclosure, Katy is in charge of Retail Operations at Flor.)

I was so happy that Argo won for Best Drama and that Ben Affleck won for Best Director at the Golden Globes. How funny was Tina and Amy? I think they should host every show from now on. As soon as I get a little time I will post a blog on the fashion from the Globes although Meryl was not there so it makes it not quite as much fun. I thought there were some really beautiful dresses this time. However, as usual, the prettiest person there was my guy George Clooney. And I say my guy because I like dreaming.

Let’s talk Inauguration. I WILL BE OPEN ON MONDAY so there will be live streaming of the events, there will be champagne AND you can only get in through the 12th street side through security. You should take the metro in as you cannot park in the garage as Secret Service has closed it. If you want to drop your things off (as long as you are back before 6) or use the ladies room, or get out of the cold, feel free to stop in as we celebrate what makes our country great: we get to vote.

LOTS OF GREAT THINGS STILL ON SALE SO STOP IN!
