For those of you who have met Ray Harris what I am about to say will come as no surprise: he is truly one of the nicest people on this earth. He has been having a fairly tough time of it lately and I thought it might be really fun to cheer him up when he is here next week. For the two of you (and don’t worry I am not insulted that the rest of you obviously are SKIMMING my emails) who caught my mistake, proofreaders both, let me correct myself: Ray will be here on THURSDAY, May 2nd from 11-7 and FRIDAY MAY 3rd from 11-4. As a HUGE ADDED BONUS, SISSY YATES and all her gorgeous jewelry will be here too. She has so many new fabulous designs you will not want to miss seeing her amazing jewelry. Recently she was in O Magazine and everyone on Good Morning America and the The View wear her pieces. I even spotted Gayle King with a necklace. Jeweler to the stars and US!!
I was thinking it might be fun to have everyone who can make it over from 5-7 dressed in Ray clothes and Sissy Yates jewelry that you already own and we can have a little party for them. Let me know what you think. Ray just lost his brother and he closed his charming store in London to concentrate on his wholesale business but leaving retail is very hard. You get so used to seeing your customers who like you, become friends, and it is a little lonely. Because of all of this he missed the fall shows, so he is touring the US by going to the stores that carry him to show the fall line and make special order dresses for those people that need special occasion pieces. We are the first stop so we get to see the fall line and also get to buy all the goodies he brings with him. No one’s jewelry goes better with Ray’s clothes than Sissy’s so if you want to add a little glamour to your Ray Harris wardrobe, a piece of Sissy Yates Designs will be the perfect piece to add. Let me know what you think. OF COURSE if you cannot make it at night, please stop by at lunch time or during the day. Especially if you want something done to order, come when we are not that busy so you can have a dress made especially to your measurements or a piece of jewelry made as well. Niche will be here this week and it is lots of tops and pants in COLORS in a great cotton pebble fabric. I received beautiful lightweight shirts, dresses and skirts from Spirithouse in black and white stripe that are perfect for our hot summers. I mean IF it ever gets above 50. I cannot believe we are still putting the heat on at night!!
The SECOND correction I want to make is this: The Planet show with designer Lauren Grossman is THURSDAY May 9th and FRIDAY May 10th. My excuse is that I got the show dates in New York wrong and she is coming straight from there. Let’s all wear our boatneck ribbed sweaters. How fun would that be?
On THURSDAY, MAY 16th Annemieke will be here with her fabulous latex creations just for the day from 11-6 and again, we are her first stop so we get the best selection!
