Not only did I get Comfy in last week, there is MORE coming on Friday! I have no idea which styles but there are SEVEN different ones so I am excited to see them. If you like Comfy’s leggings, we got them in again in black and also gray. They are a little warmer than some of our others so they make a good legging for the coming winter weather. And at just 45 dollars they are fantastic! We also have the black mesh tees with polka dots and the same style in white. With a tank or jumper over it, or under a suit jacket, they are really beautiful. If you like Sun Kim’s boyfriend jacket, we got it in black and white check with a crunch to it. It is great with a black skirt or black jeans. Or in the summer, white pants. After Memorial Day of course.
Time to turn our clocks back this Saturday. Darkness at 5:00. Always a little sad.
We got some great shirts in today from Spirithouse. They are such easy styles. And I just ordered some more white/black necklaces from Annemieke. I let someone buy mine so now I am in a huge hurry for them to come back in!
You are ALL invited! Amy Henderson, our good friend and curator at the Portrait Gallery, will escort us through her new exhibition Dancing the Dream on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 10:30. From the late 19th century to today, dance has captured this nation’s culture in motion. “Dancing the Dream” will showcase generations of performers, choreographers and impresarios. The show will include images of performers like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Michael Jackson, Savion Glover, George Balanchine, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Beyoncé, Isadora Duncan, Agnes de Mille and Lady Gaga. Dance has drawn from the boundless commotion of cultures to represent the rhythm and beat of American life. This exhibition will explore the relationship between the art of dance and the evolution of a modern American identity.
The show has received rave reviews and I cannot wait to see it myself. Seeing it with Amy is always so special as those of you who saw her Katherine Hepburn exhibit will all agree. Please let me know if you want to come so we know how many people to expect.
This past weekend we went to New York to celebrate my husband’s milestone birthday and looking for something special to do on Monday night, I googled “top 50 things to do on Monday October 28th in NYC.” Up popped two interesting things: Woody Allen at the Carlyle but it was all sold out through December. The other thing was a benefit called Laugh for Sight that helps to fund degenerative eye research at one of the area hospitals. Six comedians including Robert Klein and JERRY SEINFELD were performing. I got two tickets and lets just say that we sat so close in such a small club that Jerry has seen me!! Every one of the comedians were so good. Sue Costello, who was in the movie the Fighter, literally made me cry I laughed so hard. And Robert Klein still has it but even though we saw Jerry Seinfeld once before I have to say he is even better than ever and a comic genius. I have seen interviews with him where he says how hard he works. Well you can actually see that because while everyone else seems to try and segue into each topic, he does it without you even noticing. And the everyday things he talks about are somehow hilarious when he brings up his point of view. It was so much fun. And of course my Jet bubble necklace got lots of attention so I made friends with half the women there!! Aren’t the necklaces we have always such topics of conversation?
Lesson learned: I found out that there ARE big rooms in NYC. IF YOU PAY A FORTUNE for them!!! Who knew?
Planet has lots of cozy beautiful sweaters if you need any and we are having a hard time keeping their leggings in the store so come soon.
There is a ton of jewelry AND I got in gorgeous scarves, some with sequins and some with chiffon, perfect for the holidays!
Happy happy Halloween to you all!!
