I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! And ate lots of great food. I just love Thanksgiving weekend. Four days of food, family, friends! Could not be better!
If you signed up to go to the National Portrait Gallery to see Dancing the Dream with curator Amy Henderson this Saturday, here is the plan: we are meeting at 10:30 on the G STREET side of the museum. We will wait a few minutes for everyone to gather but hopefully we will all be relatively on time! If you are taking the metro get off at the Gallery Place stop and just walk the block over. You can walk out the Arena exit or the Galleries on 7th Street exit. If there is anyone who still wants to join us, feel free to email me as we have room for about five more people. It takes about an hour to see it all. It is sure to be fun as we will be alone since the museum does not open until 11:30 to the public, and interesting as Amy is a great curator and tour guide!
The store will be open this Saturday from 12-5 so it is a good time to start all your holiday shopping.
As usual I have tried to get presents that are reasonable in price starting at 30 dollars for slinky bracelets and 33 dollars for the fabulous Linnea candles. And upwards from there!
Please check the website as we have added trunk shows for spring! Planet, Anarkh, CAROLYN ZAPP are all scheduled. I am still waiting for a date for Ray Harris and Sissy Yates but we will put them up as soon as I have them!
We finally saw Enough Said and while I liked it, I can see how James Gandolfini died because he was not only overweight but looked very puffy and sickly, quite frankly. It is a shame because not only was he a great actor but he seemed to be such a low key guy and not one to be the “star” as so many of these people are. Seeing the movie made you sadder that he is no longer here.
We also saw If/Then and because this email gets on the internet I am not going to say anything other than it is going to be cut a little before it gets to Broadway and Idina Menzel is to die for. What a voice! And all the other actors are fantastic as well.
Hope you are all having a great week!
