News! News! and More News!

Thank you so much to all of you who came to the premiere of The Politics of Fashion: DC Unboxed. It was so much fun and although a little weird to see myself on a movie screen, thanks to Elaine Mensah for editing me so that I had some funny lines and I looked like I was having a little spat with Robin Givhan about how the media covers fashion in DC. I especially thank her because I could have a HUGE RANT about that. She made me seem just a little irritated so good editing there! For those of you who could not make it, do not fear. There is another showing at the E STREET CINEMA on Tuesday, June 17th starting at 6:00 pm and the tickets are only 20 dollars! I will be there for a short while as I am off to another event but I think you would like seeing all the talking heads in DC talk about the fashion industry here. It is a documentary that lasts about an hour. Here is the link for tickets:

Eric Cantor lost. How amazing was that? Shocking.

We are open this Saturday from 12-5 so if you are around, please come over. We have lots of the new fall from Planet and for those of you waiting for the smock shirt, they have arrived and I will be sending them out to you today. We bought extras so if you did not get to see it in person, please come in soon as it is a beautiful shirt and they go quickly!

It finally feels like summer so if you need or shall we say “want” that one extra piece of jewelry or a new summer dress, this would be the time to get it! We have little bits and pieces of every collection and still a good selection to choose from right now.

Dylan misbehaved at school last week (she was singing Let It Go during nap time and waking everyone up.) So funny. Her punishment, if she did not behave on Friday, was that she would not be allowed to go to the Gay Pride Parade on Saturday. Which, I think, might be every 3 year old’s punishment, right? Thank goodness she got to go! We start teaching our kids about equal rights at a young age in this family! Check out her rainbow tutu.

Don’t forget that the Planet show is August 6th and 7th AND Annemieke will be here from Amsterdam on the 10th and 11th of September. I cannot wait to welcome her back to Upstairs on 7th!

See you soon! Happy Father’s Day!

Enjoy our hot and beautiful weather!
