“It’s not the kite, it’s the air!” That is what Pharrell Williams said when he was asked about his great triumph with the song “Happy” meaning that his success was because of the help he received from so many people. The minute I heard him say that I thought of all of you that have made U7 so much fun and such a great place for me to come to work each and every day. So thank you for putting some air under the kite!
How sad is this news about Robin Williams? First Phillip Seymour Hoffman, one of our most prestigious actors, and now our funniest comedian. Two geniuses. My daughter Katy was at the TED (Technology, Education and Design) conference a few years ago when some systems went down and from the back of the room came the voice of Robin Williams. He went up on stage and entertained everyone for a half hour until the problem was solved. She said it was the funniest half hour of her life. It was recorded so you can google it but she said it was an amazing experience to see it in person. I remember she called me right after to tell me. Very sad indeed.
In my quest to use as many local designers as possible we just got in some terrific purses and brief cases hand made by artist Gretchen Cook. They are versatile and incredibly well made and perfect for our clothes. We already sold a few out of the box!! The briefcase would make a very special gift for that person in your life just starting out on a career too. And they are very light weight.
There are only two coats and two jackets left from Rundholz so if you want one come soon. They are really adorable. For those of you who like fur but won’t wear it, they are the perfect solution. They look exactly like my darling grandmother’s curly lamb. Maybe that is why I love them so much. Speaking of grandmothers, here are the little babies! Forgive me for posting them but it HAS been awhile.
