Angela Caputi, Planet, SKIF, and the Golden Globes!

O H I O!!!! NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!

Ok, I am fine now. Just had to get that off my mind.

Settle in people because this is going to be a long one!

Angela Caputi’s spring collection has arrived in the most beautiful colors. I especially like the link bracelets and necklaces. I know the bracelets will get reordered because they are only 65 dollars and they are light and colorful.

Don’t you want like, all of them? They also come in clear so they go with anything!

For those of you who came to the Planet show you know how terrific the pieces are for this season. We sold so much that we have already reordered lots of styles.

If you live in the DMV and shop in the store, you can skip this next part. You know these emails get put on the internet by google right? This is like a little ad!

For those people that want Planet and don’t have access to a Planet store or a store that carries a large quantity, we carry most styles and those we run out of we can replenish within a few days. We can get you any style in any color in a very short time. We ship all over the United States so we are happy to take an order over the phone. Go to www.planetclothingonline.com to see the entire spring collection. Give us a call at 301-351-8308 and we will answer any questions you may have.

Ok, you can continue reading.

We got SKIF again. For those of you who have been with U7 since the beginning you will remember that Skif was an original resource for us and then it got a little overdone and there were not enough new styles, but they looked really great and fresh and interesting this time so we have a few beauties in the store. Welcome back SKIF!

We are already starting to book the spring trunk shows. Ray Harris will be in the store on the 26th and 27th of February. March 3rd is the Anarkh show and March 13th (Kristin Hall) is the Kedem Sasoon show. It is Friday the 13th!!

Here is the invitation to Jodi Walsh’s show on Thursday night at Longview Gallery.I am definitely going and I hope lots of you will be able to as well. Her work is so beautiful and this may be her last show here as she is moving to Houston soon.

Ok, here is my take on the Golden Globes. Let’s start with the Goddess of all Goddesses: Meryl. She looked fabulous. And you know I don’t always say so. I loved her hair, the dress, everything.

Amal, you will excuse the expression, Clooney, looked gorgeous but completely ruined the whole thing with those horrible gloves. This is her first misstep so I am giving her a pass.

I loved every single one of the red dresses. Even Lena Dunham’s because usually she looks just horrible but she looked very nice. Viola Davis, Catherine Zeta Jones, Allison Williams, Julianna Margolies, and Julia Schilling looked beautiful and then Helen Mirren and the amazing Jane Fonda showed what happens when you work out everyday. I didn’t like Jane Fonda’s dress but I never do, but her body is amazing considering she is 78 years old! I mean, really. Who looks like that at 78? Who looks like that at 40? A high bar indeed.

Don’t worry, your eyes are fine. I couldn’t find a good picture.

This is Julia Schilling. Who is she? This was my favorite. Simple and beautiful whoever she is.

I mean, seriously.

Then there were some stars that really looked like movie stars:
Kate Hudson and Julianne Moore and Lorde, except that Lorde is what 17? and she looked 40. But a great outfit. By the way I did not like Kate Hudson’s dress but it’s her thing and she did look gorgeous. It’s a little too cut out to be considered elegant. But what do I know?

I just love her. Can’t wait to see Still Alice.

For those out of the loop, like me, this person Lorde is a singer.

And lastly I liked these two dresses because they were elegant and simply beautiful.

Ok, so much for the gorgeous dresses. These are the ones that I thought were just horrible. It makes you wonder what their stylists were thinking. For the most part these seemed either too big, too Amish, in the case of the Chanel dress Keira Knightly wore or ok, just plain UGLY!!!

This dress just washed Amy Adams out. It looks brighter in this picture than it was in person or on tv since I was not actually there. Her speech was so weird that Bill Murray rolled his eyes. Did you see that?

Is it me or did Jennifer Aniston look old? Was it the cut of the dress or was it her hair? I cannot put my finger on it. Please discuss.

Ok, whoever you are, pull this dress up a little so it fits you. I think this had to be on someone taller or the plunge is too plungey or SOMETHING. It did not fit her at all. Is this the actress that was in Gone Girl?

I LOVE Emily Blunt and I liked her dress but she also looked Amish in this braided hairstyle and they made her eyebrows so dark she didn’t look like herself.

Green is my favorite color but I am not green with envy for this look. I do love Ruth Wilson though!

It kills me to say this because I love everything about Kerry Washington and I usually love her clothes and I love the fabric of this dress but somehow it doesn’t work. What do you think about this one?

You really cannot appreciate how bad this dress is unless you saw it the other night. The lace is heavy, there are butterflies, I mean it really looks like a little Amish girl dress. Doesn’t it? And it was made for her by CHANEL!!

And now for my totally worst dresses.

First of all JLo is so gorgeous so she could wear anything, although I am getting sick of her high slit, low neckline dresses, but this one with a huge cape added, well it is just horrible and she would have gotten the absolute worst if not for Lana del Ray. A lot of people said this was the best. And I could agree with them but then we would all be wrong.

This dress in this picture looks better than it was. That is saying something. It was shiny, too tight and looked like a bad bridesmaid dress. And could her hair be any bigger? No, it really could not be.

Always love to hear your comments so write back. Isn’t award season so good?

Ray Harris pieces are arriving this week by the way. I will be here on Saturday if you are around. Some good SALE pieces still here. IVAN GRUNDAHL!

See you soon,

Ricki
