Another year has sped by and once again it is time to tell you all how much Katy, Barbara, and I appreciate you reading these emails, shopping at our store, and supporting all our events. I don’t think there is a store in this country that has such accomplished and interesting customers. I know it is DC, but still. Katy cannot get over that I hardly take days off but when I do I feel like I am missing the best party in town. I am completely grateful to all of you for making work not work. Ok, sometimes it is work, but mostly, not. I hope you all have a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving surrounded by the people you love most.
Because we know Thanksgiving is a family holiday we are closed Thursday through Sunday. I know that makes it difficult for some of you to bring guests by but I am happy to stay late on Wednesday if they are coming in the day before AND since I only live four blocks away I can run down here on Sunday as I will be around. Just call me.
The Off the Rack conversation with Robin Givhan was so fabulous as so many of you can attest to. She is a really talented and lovely woman. We kept some signed copies of her book if you were not able to come or want one for a gift. Thanks to everyone for coming and to our interviewer Amy Henderson and Frank Van der Kemp for sharing his memories of the Battle of Versailles and for sharing how his father saved the Mona Lisa from the Nazis.
Speaking of Robin’s fabulous book, someone picked mine up by accident. If those of you who got the book signed will check your copy or copies to make sure mine is not at your house I would really appreciate it.
Ok, I am waiting for you to go check.
Now that you are back, here is the rest of the email:
We got in some new Annemieke styles perfect for the holidays. The small and tiny dot versions with pearls.
They are really beautiful in person. We ALSO got a netted scarf with different colors to wrap around a sweater or dress. Annemieke is so talented.
Red Blue Gray
We have a TON of inexpensive beautiful gifts for you to take to your host and/or hostess for the holidays. You know it is the holidays when the Linnea Lights candles have arrived. They are making the store so fragrant. We have the smaller size this time too. They are 18 and the big ones are 36. We, and by we, I mean Katy, pre-wrapped them all so they are ready to go!
We have pens with or without cases and beautiful journals from Christian Lacroix.
I have been meaning to tell you this for ages: if you want to post your pictures of you in clothes and jewelry from Upstairs on 7th please feel free to post it to our Facebook Page or our Twitter account. It would be so much fun to have you all do that!
Again, have a wonderful Thanksgiving and we will see you soon.
Ricki and Katy
