This is going to be a great week at Upstairs on 7th. Aren’t you glad you’re in town instead of being at the beach or the Vineyard?
Tomorrow night we are having Karin Tanabe for Off the Rack: Conversations at Upstairs on 7th. Her latest book,The Diplomat’s Daughter, is really really good. They were kind enough to send me an advanced copy and I could not put it down. I finished it at 2 in the morning it was so good. It made me cry and it informed me about how many different people suffered internment during WWII. It is the perfect read for summer or a summer’s day as the case may be. If you cannot come tomorrow night but would like a signed copy let me know and if we have any left I will certainly have it signed for you.
Our first GREAT RECYCLE EVENT IS THIS THURSDAY!! This is going to be so good! We got in close to 200 pieces of Lilith, Sun Kim, Ray Harris, Dress to Kill, Spirithouse, Planet, Blanque, Crea, Lunn, and even a piece of EPPERSON. If you remember that line you win for being a customer for all ten years we have been in business! There are lots more designers represented too so come early for all the best selections.
I hope that you copied, pasted and sent the invitation for the sale to your friends and family and work friends that might not be able to afford to shop here or don’t know about the store. If not, it is pasted below for you to send.
I would like to caution everyone about this one thing: we expect to be very busy on Thursday from what people are saying. Barbara is out of town so it is just me and Katy so patience is going to be a key. Give yourself plenty of time so you can really look through everything and try it on because all sales will be final.
The organization we are giving our unsold pieces to, if so desired by our donors, is Women Giving Back. Thanks to Jill Stillwell for telling us about them. This is a non profit right up our alley. Twice a month they open their “store” to hundreds of homeless women to shop for free. So this is a win win. You get to clean your closets of pieces you are not wearing anymore (and a few of you NEVER wore them) and some lucky women are going to either buy them at a reduced price or if in the case of the homeless, nothing. In case you want to know more about this non profit go to their website at www.womengivingback.org.
We cannot wait to have this sale so we hope to see you and all your friends this weekend! We open at 11 on Thursday and we will stay open until 7 if you want to stop in after work.
Our PLANET TRUNK SHOW with stylist Leslie Prince will be Wednesday, August 2nd and Thursday, August 3rd. There are so many great styles, you will really want to see all of them. So put the show on your calendar so you don’t miss it! Here are a few great french terry cloth pieces below:
This is a hoodie and scarf that comes in black, mud and prune.
And here is the sock bottom pant in the french terry shown with the cowl neck top
Here is another Planet sweater with holes in it that comes in red, black, java, and nickel.
Annemieke is coming to the store for a trunk show on Wednesday, August 16th and Thursday, August 17 with all of her beautiful new styles including these new necklaces. You can order it from her in any colors you like and she will also have a ton of stock so put these dates on your calendar right now!!
Our regular store sale is going on with everything else and we are at 30-80% off so we hope to see everyone soon!

Here is the invitation for the Great Recycle Sale! Thanks for sending it out!
You’re cordially invited to Upstairs on 7th’s first annual Great Recycle Sale!
Our clients have parted with some of the items they purchased at U7 and have gently worn and loved. We’ve priced them all to sell and there are lots of treasures to be found.
As a bonus to your visit, we’re also in the midst of our summer sale with many items in the store marked at 30-80% off.
If you haven’t been to our new space or have never visited us, this is a great time to come say hello.
The Great Recycle sale runs from Thursday July 13th – Saturday July 15th. Our main store sale runs through the end of July.
We are open 11-6 on Monday – Friday and from 12-5 on Saturday.
We look forward to seeing you!
