We got in some of the best Skif sweaters we have ever had. Here are a few pictures of our new styles. They are so easy to wear and are perfect all year round.
Our personal favorite, this style with pockets, can be ordered in any color but we have it in red, white, burgundy and gray boucle. This style is really good for any bottom that has pockets because this comes to your waist but you could also order it longer. For those of you with Dress to Kill big pockets skirts this is the sweater for you.
This lightweight boucle is so comfortable. We also have this style in indigo blue.
We got in some amazing Angela Caputi pieces. Love them, especially this link bracelet with three different links. It looks very creamy in this picture but actually these pieces are black and white. We got some great black and red and lucite pieces too so come in to see this really beautiful collection.
Tomorrow there is a protest March for Non Separation of the immigrants entering our country starting at Lafayette Plaza, three blocks from us. We will be open starting at 11 and will close at our usual time at 5. Please stop by for water because it is going to be very hot and for some snacks. You are most welcome to use the store as your meet up place both before and after or any time in between. Remember the only way into the building is on 1299 E Street NW. This is the address to give to your Uber driver too.
For the last few weeks I have forgotten to mention that The Color Purple, the new version that Katy and I saw in New York TWICE, is coming to the Kennedy Center from July 31st until August 26th. This will make it our third time seeing it and we are still excited because it is that good. We cannot encourage you more to see this version even if you have seen the previous staged show, or the movie as it is a hundred times better than the first Broadway effort and even the movie. We saw it with Cynthia Erivo but ANYONE playing it will be sensational because the part is already so good that they wouldn’t hire anyone to do it if they weren’t beyond talented.
Back by popular demand: our Great Recycle Sale!
Clean your closet, bring us your gently worn items from U7 days gone by that you no longer wear and we will sell it for you!
The sale will begin on Thursday, July 12th and end on Saturday, July 14th.
Here’s how it works: you clean out your closet and your drawers and find the gently worn items you bought here that you no longer wear. Any accessory, piece of clothing or jewelry is eligible for sale. Please make sure everything you bring is still wearable, clean, and in the case of clothes, on a hanger. We will throw the hangers away so don’t give us your good ones.
You may start bringing your pieces in on July 2nd but no later than July 10th so that we have enough time to price and tag it all. If you are going to be out of town and wish to send us your pieces you certainly may do that. We will give you a receipt for your items when we receive them and you can decide what you want us to do with any pieces that don’t sell. We will donate once again to Women Giving Back and we will make sure you get a donation receipt unless you want your items returned. If you do want them returned please plan to come in by Wednesday, July 25th as believe it or not we will be getting fall and winter in, and space is needed for that.
Monetarily this is how it works: we price the items and sell them. We keep half and you get half to use in the store on anything you want including any piece at the Great Recycle Sale. For example, if you bring in 5 items and you sell all 5 for $850, you get $425 and we get $425. We will keep track of everything for you.
One thing we would REALLY appreciate is if you would send out an email about the sale to all your friends and family and tell your social media friends through Facebook and Twitter that there is a sale going on. It is really a good way for people that would like to shop here and feel they can’t afford it to get great pieces at a great price. And for those of you that missed out on a piece you wanted, you never know, you might get a second chance to buy it at a reduced rate. (And that means you Lynda Mount and that fab black and white Rundholz jacket I didn’t get! 🙂 Last year we sold over 100 pieces so we look forward to doing it again and we hope you do too.
We are closed for the holiday on Wednesday, July 4th.
