Another Thanksgiving to celebrate. Another year to be so thankful for everyone reading this. Another year to say once again how grateful Katy, Barbara and I are to have you as our customers, but really as our friends.
We are so appreciative that you shop here, come by to just say hi here, or support our many events here. We are grateful to all of our out of town friends who shop by facetime, pictures, or better yet, sometimes in person.
To all of our new customers, we hope you are as glad you found us as we are to have you join our community. (And that is saying a lot because this is still NOT an easy store to find!)
To all of our fabulous guests of Off the Rack: Conversations at Upstairs on 7th, thank you, thank you, thank you. We love having this series so much and there are no words to tell you how much we appreciate the time you take to visit here.
To all of you celebrating this holiday we wish you a very happy and enjoyable time with your family and friends. And to all of you in California we are hoping the rains will come and the fires will stop. Stay safe out there.
As we write this we have more than a few amazing women that are battling some serious health issues, and we are sending out our prayers for a good outcome and a good holiday. We think of you more than you know. A special shout out to you dear Ellen and Nancy!! Love you.
Some of you may have lost friends or a family member since last Thanksgiving. We know the holidays are not easy so we hope you get through them in the best way you can. If you get lonely please stop in any time: we’ll get out the champagne and you can work on the jigsaw puzzle! It is addictive! Really, come in any time.
We are open today, tomorrow and Wednesday until 6. Thursday through Saturday we are closed, off to Chicago. If you want to bring anyone by on Sunday just email us and we will meet you here because we will be back.
We will be open on Sundays, 12-5 in December until Christmas Eve.
ALSO: please note the change for our holiday party is TUESDAY, December 4th from 5-7. Please join us for champagne and hors d’oeuvres. RSVP if you can attend. (We had to change it because we forgot about Chanukah!)
If you need hostess gifts for Thanksgiving we have them. A beautiful candle from Linnea’s Lights are always good and are packaged so beautifully with matches in the lid.
Have WE got a trunk show for YOU: Leslie will be here all day Thursday, January 10th and Friday, January 11th from PLANET and ANNEMIEKEwill be here on those days as well as Saturday, January 12th! We will have both collections a few days before Leslie and Annemieke arrive so you don’t have to worry about missing a thing! Mark your calendars now so you don’t forget!
As usual we sold out of this Planet sweater about a day after we got it so we got MORE! We now have it in bright blue with black, cherry red with black and midnight with black.
LAST WEEK, one of your husbands came in and bought you lots of fabulous gifts! I told him he has set the bar VERY high indeed. He told me he had to shop early BEFORE his wife told him not to get her anything as this way he can prove he did the shopping before she said that.
If your husband holiday shops here for you, feel free to come in, email or facetime and let us know what you might want and we will try and steer him towards your wish list gifts.
If you are looking for a new steakhouse to go to we went to Rare Steakhouse last week and it was really good.
Tonight at 9:00 PM EST PBS will broadcast the Mark Twain Award that was taped a few weeks ago at the Kennedy Center. The honoree was Julia Louis-Dreyfus and they do not put it on demand or re run it so if you are home reading this go schedule it to tape or if you are at work put a post it somewhere you will see it when you get home. It is always a fabulous program and she is hilarious.
Our congratulations to Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio as he is re-elected to the Senate. So grateful to him for coming to U7 twice! Here he is with Katy when we gave a fundraiser for him.
If we don’t see you before the holiday, we hope it is the best Thanksgiving ever. Have a great time, travel safely, and we will see you soon.
Ricki and Katy
