Looking on the bright side: the Planet and Annemieke trunk shows!

Let’s look on the bright side: if you are a government worker and you have been furloughed you can finally come to the Planet trunk show!  No traffic to contend with and lots of champagne to drown your sorrows.   Believe us, we know how bad this is.  DC is almost a ghost town and so many people are suffering.  The restaurants are empty, we saw families the last few weeks wandering around on vacation with their children trying to find something to do, the taxi and uber drivers are not making money and some of you are not furloughed but are not being paid.  Over the weekend I was traveling and the TSA agents are really upset.

We have five dollar off coupons for the Newseum so we are giving them out like crazy.  Any time you want them, let us know.  We have lots of them so if you have a group for a wedding or conference please feel free to take them.  You can have as many as you want as we have a thousand of them. Literally.

This Thursday and Friday Leslie will be here from Planet.  We do have all the samples and we have lots of stock so you might be able to take home what you like.

Their matte jersey comes in new styles that are really good. We love this easy top.

The bojo skirt could go with any of your matte jersey or nylon tops or this new foil jacket

This tee shirt dress for the summer also comes in blue with black and fuschia and black.

For those of you who have the nylon skirt, wear it as a dress and put this pocket cardy over it. And now we have the skirt in white too. The pocket cardy in black or white is the best throw on sweater in the line!

On Friday and Saturday Annemieke will be in the store with all of her new designs and there are a TON of them!  Having said that, we will have most of the pieces on Thursday so if you are coming to the Planet show you won’t miss a thing other than seeing Annemieke in person.  If you have not met her try to come in and say hello.  She is so nice and she loves meeting our customers.  Here are a just a few of the new colors she is doing but there are a lot more.

This is watermelon and looks prettier in person

These are just some of her new glass beads

This is just one of her new pearl styles

All in all this is going to be one of the best shows of the year.  We can’t wait for you to see all of our new Planet pieces and all of Annemieke’s new designs: two lines that continue to forge ahead into new territory.

We will be open on Thursday and Friday until 7 so you can come over after work if you can’t get here during the day. Champagne of course!

Cannot wait to see everyone this weekend!

P.S.

I started working on my Golden Globe email but to tell you the truth it all boiled down to two: LADY GAGA in blue and the gorgeous Patricia Clarkson in red.  Gaga’s necklace was also amazing and had its own set of security.  I thought the men actually looked better than some of the women this time in their gorgeous velvet tuxedos in burgundy and dark  green. Loved Carol Burnett and her introduction by Steve Carrell was beautiful.  I did love Sandra Oh’s red dress and the fit was perfect.  I thought she was pretty funny too. Tell us who you liked this year as we get ready for the Oscar nominations! (This is not our usual Golden Globe critique but let’s face it: without George and Meryl there it’s just not as much fun. I mean how many people watch golf tournaments when Tiger isn’t playing?)
