This is why we are so lucky: we have the most generous customers in the city! You donated 2982 dollars to Jose Andres’ non profit World Central Kitchen. We feel privileged to know all of you. When we gave him the money he seemed genuinely touched and very surprised. It made us love him all the more. When we were there to give them the first checks that came we could not believe just how many people were there: hundreds lined up a block long. Waiting patiently in the cold for a bag lunch and a bag of food to take home for their family. If you were unable to get here and you still want to contribute just go to www.worldcentralkitchen.org and you can give online. They have extended the free meals through the end of the week as our workers have not been paid and when we went there today to give them the rest of the checks there were hundreds of people there.
We picked our second winner on Saturday and Ann Carr won the raffle.
Congrats to Ann and Dagmar. Here is hoping our next shopping spree is just for the fun of it and not because we have to help feed our federal workers. Who would have thought it would ever come to that? But when you heard the stories of how devastating this shutdown was for so many people it made us remember how truly lucky we are that we have a little to give away to help out. We cannot thank you all enough.
And thank goodness this shutdown is over. NOW can we get back to shopping?
We got in two dresses from Ganni that are so beautiful that you just have to see them in person.
Any color slip underneath this cotton islet changes the look instantly.
This is the dress from Ganni that you wear when you want to make a real statement when you walk in the room. It is even more beautiful in person and it is a very high grade of cotton. We LOVE this dress.
DRESS TO KILL IS HERE!
This shirt is gorgeous and as light as a feather. Probably not great for tomorrow but July when we are complaining about the heat, it will be perfect!
We got in lots of pants, dresses, skirts and some tops from Dress to Kill that you will really love. Seersucker and floral prints that are just great. Jane is coming to Upstairs on 7th for a trunk show in April and we will get the dates out to you as soon as possible. Also, watch Frankie and Grace for all of the tie dye print fabrics and Jianhui and Maria Calderara jewelry!
COMFY is here and so is SUN KIM AND JASON!
This is the black on black newsprint tee. When we take a picture in the store it is very light gray and not the true color. This is as close to the fabric as we could get but it is so much better in person.
Our Ray Harris fall trunk show will be February 28th, March 1st and 2nd and on February 28th Ray Harris will be our guest for Off the Rack: Conversations at Upstairs on 7th. He has a great story to tell and we know he will be an excellent guest. Please RSVP and feel free to bring your friends.
If you need a special dress for a wedding or gala or just want to look amazing in easy to wear clothes be sure to come to the Ray Harris show as he will make pieces to order.
Some of you have emailed to say that the pictures we put on these emails do not show up when you receive it. We checked with our IT department (dear Ben Zapp) and he said that it is because you may have a privacy lock on so you need to find out how to unlock that. He told us how to do it but we have no clue what he meant. Even the second time he told us.
See you soon,
Ricki and Katy
