Pamela Bosco is making her rings again! We cannot wait to have them here again at long last. For those of you who are relatively new to Upstairs on 7th this is a ring that we had from day one that our friend Bicky named the “girlfriend” ring. So many people got them that upon meeting someone if you saw that ring you knew they also shopped here. We have ordered sizes 7,8, 9 and they should be here soon. We can order more sizes too. We got them in silver as they are very reasonably priced but they do come in solid gold if anyone is inclined. It is four times as much in gold of course so they are by order only.
They don’t come in this shiny but this is mine and I have worn it for over twelve years just about every single day!
We got in some gorgeous clothes from the team that also designs Ivan Grundahl called Replika. This jacket also has a black or off white skirt that makes a perfect “suit” for work. Because it is made of cotton canvas it has a great structure to it.
Alembika made these GLITTER pants for spring even though they should have made them for holiday but we had to get them anyway. They are even better in person and they are the pull on style they do so well and we all love. We didn’t like the tops they had so we paired them with glitter sweaters from Planet, but just about any top looks good with them. They are really pretty in person and the picture does not do them justice. They are also available in black.
Jane Mohr from Dress to Kill will be here for a trunk show on Wednesday, April 3rd through Saturday April 6th. She is bringing all of her different pieces both for spring for immediate gratification and to order for fall.
Don’t forget to RSVP for our Off the Rack: Conversations at Upstairs on 7th, an evening with Ray Harris on February 28th. He will be here all that day and also March 1st and 2nd for you to see his new fall collection especially if you need something really special. Right now we have some wonderful pieces from him, some of which are cut on the bias which are a little more fitted. Available in 50 colors please feel free to come in and try them on.
Skif just got here. Pictured are the three styles we bought in colors as well as black or white. The dates for a Skif trunk show will be announced soon.
This is like old home week because when we opened on March 1, 2007 we had Skif and Bosco rings! It just goes to prove that if it is good, it is good.
Ok, enough about clothes and jewelry: let’s talk Superbowl ads!
Which tv ads did you love from the Superbowl? We loved the Sex and the City meets the Big Lebowski Stella Artois beer ad with SJP and Jeff Bridges. Jason Bateman was a riot in the Hyundai ad and the 100th anniversary of the NFL with all the NFL stars was amazing. Anyone catch Franco Harris of the Pittsburgh Steelers doing his amazing catch? Microsoft’s ad always makes us a little teary, and the m and m ad was funny too. People didn’t get the Andy Warhol ad for Burger King but it was fun because while they didn’t show the label on the Heinz Ketchup bottle they showed the Big Mac, making it the iconic part of the commercial. (When is the last time you ate one of THOSE 3000 calories of beef and God knows what else?) Let us know which ones you liked!
Stop in soon, we have lots to show you!
