Monday, June 24th, you are all invited to stop by between 1 and 6 and join us for donuts with tiramisu in the middle and champagne. It’s that big birthday that has arrived so much faster than I anticipated and Katy, Barbara and I would love it if you stopped by.
Let’s talk about these donuts from next door. Ever since the delicious Al Volo Restaurant moved in, and it is probably over a year, I have wanted one of these donuts. So to end my 70th year I am trying to start a bucket list of things I want to do and this donut is the first thing on my list. Seriously. Just goes to show you how much fun the little things are. (Also on my bucket list is tea with the Queen but I don’t think that is going to happen.)
Here I am at 3 tugging on a strand of pearls. Just as I was supposed to walk down the aisle at my Aunt’s wedding I broke it and the pearls went flying everywhere.
I am still wearing my hair this way just with bangs! And still wearing anklets too!
After I got rid of those pearls I walked down the aisle and instead of throwing petals I took one step, stopped and threw a petal. Then I took another step, stopped and threw another petal. It probably took ten minutes for me to walk down that aisle but hey, they were cleaning up pearls so no one would trip. I did the same thing going back up the aisle so there is a picture of two neat rows of petals! Oh, did I mention that I burst out crying when I wanted to hold my Aunt’s hand?
To give you an idea how thrilled I am about this birthday, this picture popped out of the album it was in when I was looking for something else, and I burst out crying! I KNOW the alternative is worse BUT still. I will say that one of the great blessings of my life is knowing you. It’s hard to put into words how much I love having this store and meeting the most accomplished women in our country. So many thanks to each and every one of you reading this email.
Now store news:
We got in the fabulous Comfy long sleeve tees in black and in white. A few of you have asked about them so if you want us to hold one for you just email us and we will put it away. And we got the wide ankle pant in gray and the boyfriend jacket in navy.
Our annual RECYCLE SALE is: July 11, 12, 13th. You can bring clothes starting on Saturday, July 6th.
For those of you who have not participated or have forgotten, here is how the sale works:
You can bring up to six pieces you have purchased from U7 that are gently worn, clean, and on hangers. We will price the items and you get half to use as a store credit and we get half. If we do not sell your items we can donate them for you in your name or you can pick them up when the sale is over. PLEASE feel free to bring your friends or anyone who may want a great bargain or are looking for the piece they let get away. Our favorite incident from last time is that one person brought in two big pocket skirts from Dress to Kill and then bought two from another person that brought several DTK big pocket skirts in as well. So funny. This is a great way for women to shop here that may not be able to otherwise. So bring those gorgeous clothes in and let’s get them to another woman who will make good use of them. Please copy and paste this to your friends because this is such a fun sale!
Today, June 22nd, is the 50th Anniversary of the day the Cuyahoga River caught on fire in Cleveland. Who can forget that?
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
