Hi everyone!
It was so nice to have our first week back at the store and get our bearings a little bit. It felt surreal to unlock those doors, turn on the lights and get to stay here (without worrying that we were going to get a fine)!
Based on our initial week, we have decided a few things that we want to share with you:
For now, our store hours will be Monday-Friday 11am-5pm. This may change once we have a few more weeks behind us and it is also flexible, so should you need us to be at the store outside of these hours, please let us know and one of us will be there.
We feel comfortable to welcome you into the store without an appointment. You are welcome to call and let us know when you plan to visit, but we also felt a natural ebb and flow to the days last week and know that we will be able to manage having a little less structure while keeping everyone safe. Should we have more than four people in the space at once, we will direct you to wait in our beautiful lobby where there is free wi-fi, lots of space for social distancing and protocols for your comfort and safety.
While in the store, the following is our protocol:
- Masks will be required for everybody in the store by order of the governor and mayor. If you don’t have a mask, we have masks available for sale. We also have disposable gloves for you to use to look through the clothing racks.
- We will be limiting the number of customers to two or three in the store, for a total of four people including Ricki and/or Katy.
- For your use, we have hand sanitizer at various points throughout the store. Our restroom will remain open for your hand washing (and other) needs.
- In addition to our normal care of garments, we will steaming items after they have been tried on if they are not bought.
- If you do not feel 100% healthy, we ask that you please stay home and know we would love to welcome you any time when you are feeling better. We will do the same.
- We have continued to elevate our cleaning program, sanitizing frequently used surfaces, doorknobs, railings, etc., and we are taking other measures to make sure our store remains as safe as can be.
We hope that by implementing these measures we can substantially reduce the risks of contracting the virus while at the same time helping to make you feel comfortable shopping with us.
As always, for those who are still self-quarantining or out of town, we are available for Zoom and FaceTime, just email us at: u7wardrobe@gmail.com or reply to this email and we will confirm the who, what, where, when and how.
Now for the fun stuff!
John Derian has arrived and it is so beautiful. It was too much fun to open the shipment (honestly, any bit of normalcy feels so good!) especially as we have been looking forward to it since we placed our order last August! All of the pieces are hand-decoupaged, so the lead time for an initial order is long. Add Covid to the mix and we have had to be very patient. It was worth it! Here is some his work mixed in with our other gift offerings. Should you need a gift, this is a great time to have us put one together for you.
Perfect little mirrors from John Derian too:
We have some really pretty, hand-dyed, Amanda Bond dresses in the store. They are made of super light cotton and will be perfect for the next couple of months.
Please note the gorgeous sculpture by Barbara Liotta on our new blue pillar. It is for sale with price on request.
We will receive the rest of our Giada Forte and Natalie Martin orders this week. Both have very light, easy pieces for the summer. If you are looking for something new and casual as a pick-me-up, these pieces are for you!
We have new colors of the Ray Harris masks. These go quickly (who would have ever thought we would all have a wardrobe of masks?!) so let us know if one of these strikes your fancy.
It has always been hard to find our store but today our building had an artist paint this for us so now we can say when you see Hope you are at our store!
If you stand it the middle you become part of the butterfly!
In the “let’s get behind women to be supportive department” there was a great article in the Washington Post on Sunday about the great job our first woman Director of the National Gallery of Art Kaywin Feldman is doing and how the opening of the museum will begin.
We have lots of light, casual clothing for the summer much of which we haven’t been able to show you as it arrived just as we were closing. We can’t wait to show it to you.
Summer is here, we are here, all we are missing now is you! Come say hi and treat yourself to something new for the season!
Ricki and Katy
