Upstairs on 7th: It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

It IS the most wonderful time of the year, no matter how you feel about 2020. If you are a silver linings type, you’ve made the best of it and are getting festive and if not, there are only 29 days left which is not so many, so it’s the most wonderful time because it’s nearly over.
This is the two of us laughing at the above:
We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Given the 2020 situation we heard all sorts of clever alternatives to the usual family gatherings: cribbage for two, lasagna instead of turkey and in our case, making so much food that we are still eating it because going small is not our jam. Though not the same, we have so much to be grateful for, especially that we finished the weekend by finding out whodunit on The Undoing? Did any of you watch? Were you surprised?! Both of us were.
Okay, down to business (though we are both quite good at holiday weekends). For those of you who placed orders during our Dress to Kill trunk show, we are expecting the first part of the shipment towards the end of this week, beginning of next week. For those of you waiting on your pieces from Ray, he is working on them, but London is on lockdown, so hang tight. We will keep you posted on all of the above.
If December has gotten you into the holiday spirit we are here to help. We have beautiful scarves, cozy sweaters, coats, socks, dresses (you never know!) jewelry, playing cards, stationery and wrapping paper to make all of your packages look pretty! We also have gift certificates in any denomination, so if there are things you’d like, you can give a hint to your friends and family and if you have a difficult person to shop for on your list, an Upstairs on 7th gift certificate might be the answer.
We would love to see you, but if you are out of town or unable to get here, we are always up for FaceTime.
We will be on Facebook Live today at 3pm EST showing our favorite earrings and bracelets. If you missed our show on Monday you can find it on our Facebook page, Upstairs on 7th, and see all of our picks for our favorite necklaces. We really enjoy all of you Facetime regulars. Never hesitate to send us suggestions for what you’d like to see. We love when you do and it is probably much better content than the two of us just laughing at each other.
Here is something from our friend Gabriele to make you smile!
Hard to believe it has come to this:
1. The dumbest thing I ever bought was a 2020 planner.
2. I was so bored I called Jake from State Farm just to talk to someone.  He asked me what I was wearing.
3. 2019:   Stay away from negative people.   2020:   Stay away from positive people.
4. The world has turned upside down. Old folks are sneaking out of the house and their kids are yelling at them to stay indoors!
5. This morning I saw a neighbor talking to her dog. It was obvious she thought her dog understood her. I came into my house and told my cat. We laughed a lot.
6. Every few days try your jeans on just to make sure they fit.   Pajamas will have you believe all is well in the kingdom.
7. Does anyone know if we can take showers yet or should we just keep washing our hands?
8. This virus has done what no woman has been able to do.   Cancel sports, shut down all bars and keep men at home!
9. I never thought the comment, “I wouldn’t touch him/her with a 6-foot pole” would become a national policy, but here we are!
10. I need to practice social-distancing from the refrigerator.
11. I hope the weather is good tomorrow for my trip to the Backyard. I’m getting tired of the Living Room.
12. Appropriate analogy. “The curve is flattening so we can start lifting restrictions now” is like saying “The parachute has slowed our rate of descent, so we can take it off now.”
13. Never in a million years could I have imagined I would go up to a bank teller wearing a mask and ask for money.
14. The spread of COVID-19 is based on 2 things:
    a. How dense the population is, and
    b. How dense the population is
Just an update on our hours. We will be open Monday-Friday 11-5 and on Saturdays in December from 12-5. If these hours don’t work for you, just let us know. We get here early and leave late most days, so we can make just about any time work.
Wishing you all a good start to the month and we look forward to seeing you soon.
Fa la la la la,
Ricki and Katy
