I hope that you all had a great holiday weekend. Thanks SO MUCH to our friend Rachel for inviting my husband and me to the terrace of the Dept. of Interior for what must be the best view in DC for the beautiful fireworks. It was very exciting to meet Secretary Salazar who could not have been nicer or a better host. How fun is DC???
Ok, it happened yesterday so I have to comment on it: hard to believe Casey Anthony got off. My oh my. What I think is particularly smart on the part of the defense team was to put two people on the jury who had not gone past the 11th grade, a person that had served time in jail and one woman that had been picked up for a DUI. Add in being sequestered for six weeks with every call, paper and tv monitored and you get an innocent verdict. What I do not understand is why people would come from all over the WORLD to go to it, or stand outside the court? It’s a world gone mad, right?
U7 WILL BE OPEN this Saturday from 12-5 and so will Gallery 555 with their new show. There are lots of things on sale so come in and find some things that you can wear that will perk up your wardrobe. The purses and some selected jewelry is on sale also.
HALF of the Comfy tees are gone so if you want one or some, come in soon. I have black, white, gray and cocoa which are the only colors they make.
The beginning of Ray Harris will be in at the end of the week and if any of you have the jackets and pants from a few years ago that have the ruching in the front, he has made them again but in a more exciting fabric and beautiful colors with some good jackets to go with them. I don’t know about you, but I wear those black pants constantly and they wash up really really well. My Sister’s Art has arrived with some new designs in aluminum and rubber that are really well priced and pieces I think you may love. On the tag it says that to take care of rubber you should rub canola oil on it. I tried it on a part of one of my rubber necklaces that had faded and it works. Make sure to rub it off well though because you do not want to smell like cooking oil!
There are going to be lots of trunk shows in the fall but I am waiting to find out everyone’s schedule. I am BEGGING Katrin Noon to come here from Spirithouse.
How great would that be? Stay tuned and go to the website to see Events updates.
Hope to see you soon!
