Many of you may know I was in Israel last week and got to go to Kedem Sasson’s studio. \u00a0it was so much fun to see some of the pieces he makes for Israeli Fashion Week and we had a discussion about him making a few dressier styles for those of us who love his clothes and would like to wear them to more formal events like weddings, non profit fundraisers, and other events that require a dressier outfit. \u00a0Fingers crossed that he will do that.<\/p>\n

\nSpeaking of dressier clothes we have received some beautiful cut velvet styles from Dress to Kill. \u00a0If you love her big pocket skirt for day, her cut velvet black and deep purple skirt will be right up your alley for night. \u00a0Pair it with a black sweater for day and a dressier top for evening. There is also a black and white tunic in cut velvet that I love as well as her jumper with the pleats in all velvet. If you like her pleated dress we got that in different fabrics including the cut velvet. And there are a few pairs of her pants that I love as they are so comfortable. Shown below is one of her tunics with the slips we had earlier in the year.<\/p>\n

More Dress to Kill: on Friday<\/span><\/span> I am getting 25 pieces of this fabulous line for just a few days as a special little show so stop by on Friday<\/span><\/span> and Saturday<\/span><\/span> to see special DTK!<\/p>\n

We got in a bunch of new Annemieke necklaces in the blues and grays, and some purple as well as the gray and red combos. \u00a0Perfect for gifts this year.<\/p>\n

Today we are getting our Comfy and Sun Kim order but as usual I do not remember what is coming. \u00a0I would give us an hour or so to get it out of the box!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Last night we hosted Kim Atkins, the chief Washington reporter for the Boston Herald, for our Off the Rack series and she was fantastic. \u00a0She is also a lawyer AND fashion designer so in other words: a real overachiever! (Those are Kim’s designs you see in the photo.) In the next few months she is also set to take over as Regional Director of Fashion Group International. I am trying to figure out how she has time for that as she is reporting, appearing on NBC and MSNBC, FOX, and other networks and making clothes. \u00a0Oh to be young again! \u00a0Thanks to all of you who have supported our series of conversations. \u00a0We have some great people lined up for next year and will be letting you know soon, including our first male guest.<\/p>\n

Our hours for the holidays are as follows:<\/strong> we are CLOSED Thanksgiving weekend. We spend our holiday with our relatives and we want you to as well. \u00a0If you have guests coming in I am happy to stay a little late on Wednesday<\/span><\/span> night and I am also happy to make appointments on Sunday<\/span><\/span> if you want to come in. Just let me know ahead of time. \u00a0During the month of December we are open our regular hours as well as SUNDAYS from 12-4 with mimosas waiting! If you want to come before or after work, just let me know as we are happy to stay or come in early. \u00a0You can also send us a list of what you want and we can get it all wrapped and ready for you to pick up to save you some time. \u00a0If you need some gift ideas just let us know, we are happy to help and we have lots of great accessories, giftware and jewelry in every price range. We also have gift certificates in any denomination. We can also FaceTime or Skype with you and this way you can shop right from your home or office. And of course we ship anywhere in the US.<\/p>\n

The most energetic young lady, Alesha Wilson, has started a non profit that dresses underprivileged girls for the prom called Once Upon A Gown. \u00a0We have a collection box and will be happy to take any of your gowns that you no longer have need of that can be worn to a prom or you can make a tax deductible donation. \u00a0Even if it is dressy but not something YOU would wear to a prom, bring it in as they remake some of the dresses so that they are prom appropriate. On March 17th<\/span><\/span> the girls will come to their pop up prom shop with their mothers to get a free prom dress. \u00a0Katy is going to the event and we thank you in advance for your generosity!<\/p>\n
