Hi Everyone!<\/p>\n

We totally forgot to talk about the Met Gala last night on our Facebook Live video today but Katy and I were watching last night and Katy couldn’t WAIT to write the wrap up! As I pass on all responsibility for U7 to Katy little by little I am thrilled to have her start writing up the recaps because she is so much better at it than I am. So here is the wrap up. Prepare to laugh and we hope to see you this week or next for sure when Ray Harris is here.<\/p>\n

It’s the morning after the first Monday in May, and that means that there are a lot of fashionistas, celebrities, stylists and socialites, who have hangovers this morning and that means we have a lot to discuss. This year especially, because while I try to stay positive when reviewing these star-studded events this Met Gala left a lot to be desired, especially because this was a Karl Lagerfeld Met Gala. The guests could pull from Karl’s time at Chanel! Fendi! Chloe! Patou! This is a much easier assignment than usual (remember Camp?!?) and…<\/p>\n

Jared Leto dressed as Choupette, Lagerfeld’s cat. This was the highlight of the evening. When Jordan Catalano (aka young dreamboat Jared Leto see below) in a giant cat costume is the best thing about the Met Gala, it was a rough night for fashion.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

There were some stars and people who have millions of followers on Tik Tok (though I have no clue who they are,) who looked amazing though, so let’s start with those first.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n
Naomi Campbell was for me, the best everything of the night. Dress. Hair. Make-up. Skin. Call her what you will, but she looked gorgeous and effortless. I wish she could have just stayed on the (whatever the pattern of that) carpet was all night and rolled her eyes at everyone all night. If she had been the commentator it would have been SO much more fun to watch.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Dua Lipa is also on my list of thank goodness for you. Her vintage Chanel dress was one of the rare times we saw the iconic Chanel tweed last night and one of two times the tweed looked pretty (Catharine Martin was the other). Dua Lipa’s Tiffany necklace was also unbelievable. 200 carats! 200. I loved her make-up and hair. She looked like herself (at least I think she did.) I don’t really know Dua Lipa’s music, I just know she is not Doja Cat, who came as a cat.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of Doja Cat, I also do not know anything about her except that she came to the Met Gala like Julia Fox did at the correspondents dinner, thinking she was going to a different event where the invitation said dress to scare people. In the Who Wore it Best? category we have Olivia Wilde in her (supposed) Harry Styles revenge dress (except he didn’t show up, which was too bad because I always love to see his fashion choices,) and Margaret Zhang, the youngest Vogue Editor in Chief who leads the China version of the magazine. Their dresses were based on a vintage Chloe dress and voiIa a rare Met Gala faux pax that I am sure neither was happy about. My two cents, Margaret Zhang wins. I love navy and black together and her trademark brightly colored hair was perfect in bright blue on this night when you want the spotlight on you when you walk the carpet.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Rihanna showed up two hours late. Why? She’s very pregnant? She didn’t want to walk the carpet because she’s Rihanna and she doesn’t have to? She didn’t really want to come? Who knows? Someone must, but she looked dramatic and cool and though no one saw it in real time, we’ve all seen it, so I think Rihanna is smarter than anyone else who went to the Met Gala last night. She basically stayed home without staying home and she secured her invite for next year.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Trust your gut with its perfect abs, JLO!) and my conclusion is that she saw herself and knew she had three looks on and that they should never have been put together.
